I thought your next post would be a picture of it in the back of your truck.

Ha, that'd be sweet. Bow season opens 9/15, will have to wait til then. Mmm, backstraps...

I believe Hinck has it right when it comes to having confidence in your own technique. There's so many different styles if you watch the pros. Different grip, different speed of run-up, different reach-back, different follow-through. On putts: different grip, different stance, different loft, different spin, etc. I think people do what works for them and what feels natural and it translates to better results for some than for most others. I'm in the most others boat. ;D

That's #11 in the background, she's heading toward #12's tee.

Matty O shot a 43 @ Cliff!!!!????  ..................or................Matty O COULD have shot a 43 if he didn't get a 5 on his last hole......which is it?

Thank you Mike

Either way, Matty O remains the only disc golfer to shoot a 45 at Cliff. I'm sure there have been a few non-disc golfers who've shot 45s at Cliff. ;D

looking like this for the version this year....
1-Double Mando-Long Position Key Hole OB
2-Short-Need hay bales, OB circle around the green, and bales to force placement shot-Bales 3 High
3-Long pin before road, Keyhole OB style
4-Holes #4-5 long, ob tighter than last year all along the right, inside of #5 bench
5-first hole by house, road OB, and to the right, "water OB", no double mando, long pin
6-Tee by stop sign road entrance to zoo, straight shot back green drop off-(We need a pad poured here)
7-teeing by fence, open fairway towards pin last year, using "water" OB-pin placement moved (Pad & Pin needed)
8-tee by light pole, OB right-(Pad & Pin needed)-Trees need to be raised
9-6 Short
10-7 Island Rules, Double Mando
11-8 Long-OB Clubhouse area
12-Tee #9 to #11 Blue Pin-Mando Tree to left
13-#12 to pin by the road behind rock
14-#13 Long, OB teeing from "island" rules, DZ=Short Pad if not inbounds
15-#14 long Pad to #15 island
16-Tee from Gregory corner to long #16 pin, OB aligns the fairway (need pad)
17-to #15 Blue placement
18-Short pad to #10 Blue placement, OB aligns the fairway

Rocks are ON
PDGA Tent by #3 long all weekend...

Final 9
4 (to 5)
7-9 Short (need to move pin)
8-14 long pad to long pin #14 (need to move pin)
9-18 Long pad-Blue placement (need to move pin) OB will be on sides, but not behind pin, it will align with the regular SWG13.

This isn't set in stone yet, but it is pretty darn close to what this is going to be looking like.

Dang, Timko sure did a nice job designing that layout! ;D

Could've sworn Matty O's Worlds round at Cliff was a 45. (Still huge and very impressive.) And that was with taking a 5 on Hole #1.

Awesome game, though. Fast paced like crazy! Beilein was totally out-coached by Tony Montana I mean Pitino in the 2nd half. Cards just flat out played harder and smarter down the stretch and totally deserved that win. Normally I'd b%tch about the refs, but they really called most of the game Michigan's way! ;D

Cliff Drive / Re: League 4/1/13 Results
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:06:33 am »
They close soccer fields all the time to prevent damage. How is this any different? Most ball golf courses have the money to effect repairs when damage occurs. We don't have that luxury.

I recall a time a few years back when the baskets were all pulled at Swope for for several weeks to allow grass to get a good start. Perhaps it's time to consider that option. Short term pain for long term gain....

LOL, Cliff Drive is no soccer field or ball golf course. I've played many a muddy round out there, and damage to the course is the least of my concerns. I'm more afraid of eating it on one of the hills and having to listen to Jen when she's putting my muddy clothes in the laundry. ;D

The wooded holes don't have grass to worry about, and the grass on the open holes, whether wet or dry, isn't going to be torn up by the few disc golfers who'd be out at league tonight.

Just because only a couple people can make it to the work day doesn't mean they're the only ones that care about the course. It's going to be muddy but I never let that stop me from playing.

I guess I'll have to play Birdland instead.

Agree with this sentiment. If Jack is too frustrated to want to run league tonight, I totally understand-- I ain't running it either. But if someone does want to run league at Cliff and there is enough interest to have league there this evening, it ought to go on as normal.

Sorry for being crass again, but this is awfully frustrating. With all the views on this topic, I know people knew about this workday. Hell, one guy even asked me not to cancel it because he wanted to do some work out there, and then he didn't even show up. (I'm talking to you, Mike Penney, ya &%^$@.)
I realize folks may be working on other courses. I also realize that Cliff Drive might be a long drive for other members. But seriously, how many of you USERS who saw this thread and knew about this workday were out PLAYING a round yesterday at Water Works, or BV, or Swope, or Rosedale? Oh, maybe you were too tired because you PLAYED in a tournament on Saturday-- sh1t, you probably haven't put in work at the courses where those tourneys were held, either, have ya?
Hundreds of views and only Jack and I show up. What a F'n joke of a club membership.

Thanks Keizer for coming out and putting this on the mark.  Mike and I got quite a bit one on the new hole #1 for clearing out.  Then I spent about 2 hours on #1 cleaning up the side of the hill, and working on getting some more control on the front part on the hole.  I appreciate Mike making part of his life to improve the courses.  I thank him for making the effort and following through.  Thanks Mike!

Dude, are you serious? I don't need the kudos. Instead of thanking me, you should be calling everyone who didn't show up the douchebag users that they are. %$#@ this club, seriously.
