Cliff Drive / Re: WorkDays

Again, the tires/trash on #12 are items I picked up from down the slope behind the tee pad and placed there for P&R. They know about them already.
All that trash on #17, I saw it, and it's just more sh1t than I care to deal with by myself.

robm, I will PM you maybe Sunday or Monday morning, and let you know if I can be out there Tuesday. If we can meet out there, we'll try to get as much of that trash picked up as possible, then we'll go get some food and bevvies on the club.

There is something going just about every weekend except this one coming up and the weather doesn't want to agree.  The next weekend that doesn't have anything going on April 7th or April 21st.

April 7th sounds alright to me. What does everyone else think about a work day on April 7th?

Okay, I'm not too familiar with tourney dates or whatnot, so if anyone can pinpoint an upcoming weekend that is relatively open, we can start there.

General Banter / Cliff Drive Work Day, This SUNDAY 4/7/2013!!!
« on: March 20, 2013, 09:46:18 AM »
The workday for 4/7/2013 is going down at Cliff Drive this Sunday morning and I will be out there by 9am at the latest, probably working for 4 hours or so. Hope to see some new faces out there to help carve out these new holes.

Items we'll be focusing on include honeysuckle removal from a new hole location along the road between #9 and #17, as well as work on two additional new holes in the woods between #2 and #12. Might even finish the lengthening of #6 while we're at it.

Bonus if you can bring chainsaws, pick axes, lopping shears, etc. Gloves and safety glasses probably wouldn't hurt to bring as well. Anything to help with honeysuckle removal and carving out new fairways in the woods.

So were there any issues with the course itself? I haven't been down to the wooded holes in a couple weeks. Any large trash items or downed trees/limbs in need of removal?

Up by 12 tee there were a bunch of tires and downed branches and 12's fairway was pretty littered in general. The wooded holes were actually in pretty good shape from what I remember....

Okay, that stuff was gathered up from other spots on the course last week, P&R has been notified and is supposed to come get it. Seems like they should have gotten to it by now. Thanks Andy!

So the hanging basket is okay for a PDGA league but not tourneys? Either way, Jack would have never allowed the hanging basket to be played during the first Cliff Drive PDGA league. Hopefully he won't be too angry about it. ;D

Hey Jack, when you do the PDGA reporting, this is what I had for pin placements:

1 - Mid right
2 - Mid
3 - Solo
4 - Long
5 - Short
6 - Long
7 - Mid in woods
8 - Hanger
9 - (don't actually recall)
10 - Mid?
11 - Short towards road
12 - Solo
13 - Short
14 - Long left
15 - Long
16 - Long?
17 - Super duper freakin long across both roads long
18 - Hill climber long left

There's only one placement on 9, Ryan.

Big difference between private residences and publicly-funded municipal park property, you obtuse bastards, especially with ZERO criminal intent involved. Yes, I'm talking to Aaron the Bootlicker and BP the Goosestepper. Would either of you be capable of functioning without some sort of government regulations dictating your every move?

Mike, there is a ton of expensive equipment on the P&R's side of that fence.  P&R has also told us time and time again that if we ask them during business hours, they will get the discs.

As much as I dislike police intrusion into our disc golf utopia on this side of town, I'm more likely to say that the person that got the ticket was being an idiot.

Not the point, BP. I doubt he stole any of the equipment. He was just retrieving his disc, right? So basically, this guy is going to have to fork money over to LS even though he hurt no one, stole nothing, damaged nothing, and only because some cop felt like being a dick. That's bullsh1t, I don't care what anybody says.

Oh, I'll definitely play it just to notch the belt. Just like PC, though, as much as I like the course it is just too far a drive for me to play it often.

Sounds like a cool course but Loomis, you've scared me away with all that talk of long power drives. It'd be a long power drive to the course from Independence, too. ;D

Congratulations to the heroic officer for his actions in stopping this dangerous criminal. One more dirtbag off the streets! Thank goodness for the brave men and women of law enforcement. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, %$#@ yeah!

Haven't tried tamarind yet. I usually go with orange if I get Jarritos, but Sidral Mundet (apple) is my favorite Mexican soda. They taste even better when you dispose of them properly afterwards.

somalian drivers ed graduation party

Either that or Latino school of trash dumping graduation party. They dump the bags, and the raccoons and opossums rip them open so we can see the contents. Just about every trash bag I see dumped out there contains some combination of Spanish language newspapers, Jumex cans, corn husk wrappers, empty Jarrito's bottles, and Bimbo snack wrappers. Oh, can't forget the Our Lady of Guadalupe candle jars. Worst of all, I'm now a racist for pointing this out. %$#@! Thanks a lot, Latinos (or maybe Somalians)! >:(
