Different local BBQ establishment stripper's pics.  Probably not ideal, but pretty cool to show off a part of KC.  8)

Just go to Whispers in Leavenworth, KS I heard they will do ANYTHING to make a dollar....

Anyways, I think either BBQ places is a great idea or even do like popular spots around KCMO, even include the area surrounding Swope HAH I think if you get the Zoo to throw in a couple dollars, maybe Worlds of Fun, West Bottoms, Power and Light, Sprint Center....that kind of stuff. It's a win win for both parties.

I hate to be that person but I want to make sure that the flex start is 9am-6pm right? Not 9-6am...

I might have to come check this course out, even though I have not played DG in a month, might need to shake some rust off....

« on: September 10, 2012, 09:32:52 AM »
Before beginning our glow golf experience, I found a disc sitting by the Tee Pad of Hole #1 on Water Works. If it's yours, describe the disc...and then find bnorris's disc, and we will exchange HAHA

If it's your we will come up with a way to get it to you, but I leave Saturday for a week....so hurry up!

I wasn't a huge fan of Water Works first time I went out there. I actually swore I would never touch that course again. Since then I have been out twice and I actually love the course. If you want to play Water Works some night, let me know. I work weekdays, stupid Uncle Sam says I have too  :o, I am off around 5pm each day but I work on Fort Leavenworth, hence why leagues out going to be out of the question for me now  :( If you are going to play settler's open, we can link up out there. I will be buying my entry Friday morning, when I get paid.

Me and bnorris usually play Saturday afternoons, usually 36-54 holes.

Where and when do you guys play? I am still deciding what I want to play. I definitely want to play water works again, though.

We play WW, Swope, Rosedale Up and Down, Shawnee Mission Park, really any course we feel like on the day. Sometimes we play 36 holes, sometime 54...sometimes only 18, just depends on our mood.

913-704-9090, shoot me a text, let me know who it is and I will save it in my contacts so I can get ahold of you next time we go out...I have Friday-Monday off this weekend, so that is a lot of DG we can play.

This will be my 4th Ace Race...so looking forward to it!

If you play late enough sirbronco, I might be able to join your card. I should be home by 7-8am on the 23rd, might need a few hours of rest then I will come out. What time do you plan on playing??

Just a note on Swope etiquette.
We yell "threeeeee!!!!!" because most players there can't count to fo(u)r(e).
Just sayin.

Original Slim

I like it when I hear "Heads Up!" I just shake my head...or when you yell fore and people turn around to look...hit the ground or get low HAH  :o

Warren, MI is also unknown to many and heralded by absolutely no one as the birthplace of Mike Hyzer. As for a statue, last I asked they were still considering it.

If you really want to do yourself a favor and feast upon the best Italian food in the northeast quadrant of southeastern Michigan, I recommend dinner at Louie's Pizza, on Dequindre Rd. & 9-1/2 Mile Rd, just west of Warren in Hazel Park.

I'm all about food! I will note it. We are staying at the Residence Inn Marriott at 30120 Civic Center Blvd, if you have any idea where that is or what's around it. I will be glad to know the area before I get up there. My mothers birthday is that week, so I wanted to take them out to a nice dinner.

The closest 18-hole course to Warren, MI is going to be either Firefighters in Troy or Brys Park in St. Clair Shores. I would opt for Firefighters, myself. Brys, which is actually 24 or 27 holes, is way too open, with lots of short holes, and there is a popular walking path that winds around the course, which sucks. I believe both the 18-hole courses in Royal Oak, which is also not far from Warren, are the types of courses where it's 9 pins, each shared by 2 tee pads. I have not played Hudson Mills, which is probably much better than all of the aforementioned courses, but it's also a bit of a drive from Warren. Hope that helps, and I hope you enjoy your time in the beautiful, sunny Detroit area.

Oh I am going to try and enjoy it, even though I will be there for work. I grew up 1.5 hours from Detroit, so I will be able to see family and friends! I will take this all into consideration and hope I get some free time to throw some disc in Detroit/Warren, MI!
