Barter Town / Re: Disc for sale
« on: January 16, 2015, 02:05:34 am »
If you need me to sign any of these I can do it between rounds sometime over the weekend.

I will also be providing free advice on inadvertent flick rollers with speed 14 or higher discs when throwing into a headwind which will generally end in a score of 2 or better on the hole.

Working on an "official" sign up, but this is the link to the basic information to help answer many questions.

http://icebowlhq.com/docs/ib15entrykc.pdf

"lunch provided" will be based on the Rosedale event on the 25th only, and of course we need more and more Chili, so bring it, and win it!  Chili contest is on again!

I would be interested in bringing some chili.  How much should I make, do I need to bring bowls and forks as well as set up a station to serve the grub?

The last putting clinic of 2014 will be held today at 9:15am at Rosedale.  It's going to be cold so their will be no autographs following the demonstration.

Liberty parks and rec texted me today that some crazy dude was swimming yesterday in the pond and today there was "some hippie" on  a large piece of Styrofoam.  Why Stryofoam....well cause carrying a boat that far is way too much work when disc hunting.

That is priceless!!

Dude, they hacked themselves. The Chinaman is not the issue here.

It's a metaphor.

Look at you with the white knighting. Isn't that sweet...

Look there's nothing I or anyone has ever said on here that leads to less volunteering. People might use it as a convenient excuse (one that I'm happy to provide, BTW) but the truth is they arent volunteering because they don't feel like it and that's the end of it. The ones that get out and volunteer do so no matter what someone posts on a message board. The ones that use what's posted on a message board as an excuse not to volunteer can choke on a bag of dicks anyway.

Agreed on the volunteers.  I am one of the dick chokers who refuses to pick up after someone shat in the corner because they are too lazy to drag their bag to the can.

But I am also the dick choker who believe in treating people with respect.  Especially women.   Especially when it involves a positive idea to benefit those less fortunate.

Did you hack Sony?

yes I have seen these guys with their giant PVC rake at Wilbur young a few times. they come out with grocery sacks full of discs and sell them all on ebay

Do those dipshats sell the discs they find?  Saw them out at pc this summer.  Their device is clever but this is a little different than Golf Ball Paul's.

People love to play the lottery (think ace fund) but are pissy about a voluntary donation to charity?

Did you miss the part where Mother Teresa over here suggested that the "charity" be tacked on in such a manner so that the entrants would be unaware of it? Yeah, that sounds voluntary like a MFer. ::)

Looked again.  Still don't see it.  I see her say voluntary several times though.

The post in question was edited.

Probably edited because the initial wording was twisted from someone who has a sincere and positive idea into someone with a hidden agenda.  The lady initiates very logical and meaningful discussions and then this is where it ends up?

Money is the root of all that is evil.  Don't let a buck define your character because someday any of us could be the person who needs help.

The mysoginistic undertone that surfaced by calling her Mother Teresa is also not really a good way for an organization to draw volunteers.

Rule 1.  If it's not your disc, it's not your disc.
Rule 2.  If it's marked as someone else's disc, it's not your disc.
Rule 3.  If all  reasonable attempts to return the disc that is not your disc and marked as someone else's disc which you found have failed, it is now your disc.

The clown snagging your disc from the pond violated/skipped Rules 1 and 2.  He then attempted to sell it for monetary gain which could be considered a criminal act because the property was essentially lost/stolen.  Granted there is potential for he said/she said yet at the very least he should be labeled a crook and reported to eBay as well as blackballed in disc golf community.

I think it is a great idea.  $1 is fair.  It adds up quickly too.
