I'm more of a visual learner.  I'll just hope you put out a map so I have a better appreciation for what I just read.  But I'm pumped for the KCWO at Swope.  Trying to make sure my schedule is empty enough that I might be able to volunteer some time to the event since I respect the field too much to add my game to it.

I wonder if it's just something they enforce during work hours.  I've never even seen anyone behind the fence any time I've been there.  Granted, I can't remember a time I've been there not on a weekend, but still.

I also noticed that the author went from Justin to Justice and back a couple of times with the other guy's name. I wonder if anyone proof read it before it got uploaded.

Maybe they wrote it on their iPhone and the autocorrect kept messing with them.

General Banter / Fantasy Disc Golf

I was poking around the PDGA site and saw that there is such a thing as fantasy disc golf.  I guess disc golf has reached the big time if people are following the tour with fantasy games.  Looks like this is the 3rd year it's been happening.  Since it's free I decided to create a team and try it out.  I've had a good time with fantasy football in the past.

I also searched the old topics on this forum and saw that someone had started a league back in it's first year and no one replied to that thread.  So I guess what I'm curious about is, is this an idea that dg fans have rejected and is just on life support until they mercifully pull the plug on it?  Or has it not taken off yet?  Maybe it was invented before the tour following was ready for it.  Or do more of you play it and just no one talks about it?  Maybe no one told me the first rule of Fantasy Disc Golf is that you don't talk about Fantasy Disc Golf.

That's Calvary Bible College's course.  It is open to the public.  There's a donation box by the first tee for those so moved.  Yes, the baskets are primitive, and actually the fist hole I ever played there, my putter went through the chains and out the back without losing too much speed.  Only had that problem once, though.  Generally, they'll catch a disc.  It's just a 9 hole course, but good enough for a quick practice session since it's at least 20 minutes farther to the next closest course for me.

Wow.  That's some disc eating snow!  I guess I see why the ribbons are so necessary now.  I had hoped bright orange discs would cut it if I ever go play in the snow.

As I see the rule and based on the graphics included in the initial post of this thread (which I see as sufficient to settle any dispute on OB rules), it doesn't matter if taking your meter relief puts you within 1m of OB.  The 1m is a standardized length of relief so that your stance isn't in OB territory.  So that example you drew up of the acute angle of safe territory, the 1m relief from where it went out would be plenty as long you can take your stance in bounds.  The spirit of the rule is that you move the disc as little as possible from the lie, not that there is 1m from any boundary.

I understand the weight and plastic type specs on a disc and appreciate the differences they make.  I also understand speed/glide/turn/fade, but I've been seeing an additional designation among players that I haven't seen, or at least noticed before until the last few weeks and don't have a clue what it's about.  It's the "times" thing, usually seen on the message boards as "11x," or "9x" or so on.  What's that about?
