Planning on showing up tomorrow.  Hoping we retreat to the wooded holes.  Not usually a fan of playing in thick woods, but tomorrow, I think I'd prefer a tree in my way over having a 30mph wind in my face. 8)

Clearly we need a new "Guess the specs of the disc I found and win it!" thread.

ReTee, do you live in Grandview or Belton?  I can give you some advice as to how go about asking for a course or get the ball rolling in your community.  Just give me a shout, we can meet up to play a round and talk about it.

Eric, I'm Brian Collier; Josh's friend.  I live just north of the Grandview/Belton line (155th st)  So I'm still in Grandview, residentially speaking.

Well, now that I've highjacked the thread, I may as well respond.  :)

Yeah, Swope is between 20 and 25mins on average.  But I rounded up.  I like to think in terms of quarter hours for drive times.  I'm weird, I know.   And P-Hill is even closer to 30mins from 71(I49)/150 which is essentially where I start from.  There's just no real direct route to get there from the NW.  The lake being there probably has something to do with that.  I could probably get to both those courses faster, but I have an aversion to speeding tickets.

As for the Raytown course rumors, that'd be nice, but rumors have been all I found down here.  I've heard rumors of a Raymore course in the works and also rumors of a Belton course in the works.  Not seen anything moving on those, or I'd volunteer for work days to make it happen.

Where I think the best place for a majors-quality course would be Longview Lake.  All sorts of terrain, trees, trails and fingerlets of water to throw over, but if a course were possible there, surely someone would have made that happen by now.

Now if we could just get Grandview or Belton to follow suit, I might be able to get out and play more often with my "very little equipment" which is growing steadily every month it seems.  As it is, I have to drive almost 30 mins to reach any course around.  Southern Grandview is a black hole for disc golfers.  And putting a new course in Liberty won't help. (Not that I won't still make the drive to try it out.)

I only understood some of that article.  So some of the PDGA majors will be broadcast on TV?  Is the BSN it's own channel? Will they carry BSN stuff here, 1500 miles from either coasts' beaches?  How does this affect discgolfplanet.tv? It looks like at the end of the article John Duesler is a big player in all this, so it must involve discgolfplanet.tv somehow, right?   So many questions, but this could become something so good for the sport.

I let him know and he didn't seem too determined to get it back.  He did sell the car, but could get the key to the new owner if he wanted.  Doesn't seem to want to bother, though.  Thanks for keeping it so long, but I'd say you can toss it.

Let me check with a guy who lost car keys there this fall I may know the owner.  (But come to think of it, he may not own that car anymore.)  I'll still check with him.

Just an idea for 2014...embroidered bag tags

http://fallingputt.com/embbagtags.html

I could live with one of those.

Just for the record, I really like the leather tags.  And even if it gets all wet and starts to stink, well, to me that will be the smell of participation.  Unless I'm holding tag #1.  Then that will be the smell of ridiculous luck mingled with subtle hints of victory.

Got 179 as a new member this year.  I'll likely be departing with it Saturday at the Ice Bowl.

Well it doesn't sound like there'll be any trademark infringement suits, but it sounds like they run the risk of making people think that a defunct ISP company has retrofitted their factory so instead of making backup discs programmed with drivers, they're making flying discs that include drivers.  And putters.  Might not be the best marketing idea.  Then again, maybe the name recognition will get more people curious to see what they really do offer and this was a brilliant marketing scheme!

Good stuff.  Thanks for sharing.  When you said their baskets are all homemade, I was envisioning something a lot cheaper looking.  But after looking at the pics, those guys look like they did factory quality work!
