Can the courses be left in that configuration for a couple of weeks?  I'd like to play some of them, just to see what they really went through.  Yes, I know what they were like, but playing it is different than watching and just knowing.

Club Archives / TRAFFIC ALERT FOR TODAY, THURSDAY
« on: July 30, 2009, 06:14:50 AM »
http://www.kansascity.com/news/breaking_news/story/1353544.html

Ramps from I435 SOUTHBOUND to I70 in BOTH DIRECTIONS will be closed from about 830 to about 3pm today, Thursday.  Detours will be posted, but please allow a little extra time.

This should only apply to anyone staying near the airport or in that general direction, and playing WYCO or PRAIRIE CENTER.  For Prairie Center, just stay on I435 to K10 West (Lawrence) to K7 Southbound.

For WYCO, I'm not sure what to tell you, I'm sorry...follow the detour!

General Banter / reactions
« on: July 27, 2009, 09:20:09 AM »
well gang, I talked with well more than 300 golfers, officials, etc yesterday, every single one I asked what they thought about the local scene.
Courses overall get raves, some who question the statistical results of some holes...BUT...and this is the MOST important thing...universal praise for the aesthetics of every single course!!!
That. my fellow KCFDC members, is the highest praise I can think of, along with the response to the 'people factor' they have noticed too.

GREAT JOB KC!!!

Club Archives / Marking machine
« on: July 23, 2009, 10:46:45 PM »
I'm finished at PC with my marking machine, the line painter trolley thing.  Timko may need it for Swope tomorrow, but if anyone else needs major lining done, gimme a holler.  816-686-2103  I work until about 3 Friday, but if you're out and about you can stop by my work and pick it up.

I"m not sure how great it'll be for marking 10 m circles, since the 4 wheels are all fixed and don't necessarily turn well.

Bob,
I have a couple of the wands for painting.  We talked about doing it Thursday, is that still good for you?

Anyone else is more than welcome to come and help, but we'll only have two of the machines.  Someone to take over when fatigue starts to set in would be welcomed, and to carry extra paint and/or beverages...

« on: July 13, 2009, 06:51:03 AM »
Thornfield is south off of US 69...but

69 is under major construction hoodoo between I35 and I435.  To avoid that, if coming from the north (downtown, Rosedale, Water Works, Cliff Drive) use the interchange of I35 and I435 in the southwest corner of the area.  It's only about 6 miles extra, but probably will save a lot of time in the snarl of construction.

{double entendre not working for me this morning.}

Club Archives / To Clarify about Saturday, Please!!!!
« on: July 07, 2009, 05:58:28 PM »
I"ve been asked numerous times already, myself, and I always refer them to call/email Chap or Jack.  I hope you guys are INUNDATED with calls!!

Saturday's schedule seems to say finals are at individual courses, but elsewhere it says finals at BV.

Can this be clarified once and for all?   Who will play in semi's...how many holes for semi's and finals...what is the layout for the finals?

Just trying to avoid any misinformation, or further misinformation as it may be.
