General Banter / Re: stolen basket
« on: May 03, 2013, 03:04:40 PM »
I know (per Tom) that these particular baskets are the only set in town like them, so it will be easier to identify it if found, however this has me thinking.  Is there a way for each course to engrave some sort of serial number (or marking) in an inconspicuous place on the basket (could be anywhere like a certain piece of metal on the underside of the basket, or a place on the pole etc.) so that there is a definite way of identifying baskets that may have been stolen?  Engravers are not that expensive and if the city and course director are the only one's who know where the engraving is, this may be a very easy way to check any suspicious baskets in the city.  I know this will not stop people from stealing baskets but if they do not know that these baskets have been specifically 'marked' this makes it easier to reclaim what is ours if they are found.  On a side note, I hope there is a stiffer punishment for stealing city property and that the douche bag who stole it is made an example out of.  Not prison or anything like that, but maybe every single member of the club gets to line up and give him a shot to the nuts with their steel-toed Kodiak work boots!!

But it's no Zombie Dust.

Zombie Dust is my #1 delight.  I lived 40 minutes from 3 Floyd's and almost every bar in Chicago had several of their beer's on tap at any given time.  I moved here to KC last summer and the thing I miss most about Chicago is all the great, local, fresh, craft beer.  If anyone has any suggestions for local (regional) crafts that remotely enter the league of 3 floyd's please share :)

Any idea where I could find hole distances?  I've looked on here and the facebook page, but can't find any info.

I like to, at a minimum, light up a driver, a mid, and a putter myself.

I typically light up two or three drivers, a mid, and a putter though.

I have a few lights left i can sell tonight. They come in two packs for $3, so you could light up four discs for $6. The lights usually last me about 5 or 6 rounds. If you use them just once or twice and remember to turn them off, they would probably keep and be usuable next fall a few rounds too.

We sign up at 5:45 and draw partners at 6:00 if ya wanna come.

Thank you for the info.  I made it home a little late tonight, but I plan on trying to get involved with the dg scene out in Olathe area (moved from out of state less than a year ago).  I will look for some lights next time i'm at DD or DGW and keep them handy, night round sound like a ton of fun.  Take care, hope to see you on the course soon.

Hey Tom, please excuse my lack of knowledge, but what would I need for a "GLOW" round?  Is it common to have many glow discs, or do people play with only a couple?  Do I need those lights that I have seen?  I have never played at night but am interested.  Thanks for any advise/help.

Played a round out at the lake today and really enjoyed myself.  It was quite wet as one would expect with all the snow melting off but it was still manageable.  It was great seeing the little pond filled up on the #1 fairway, hopefully it stays that way as it adds an element of risk to your drive.  I can't wait to throw a few more rounds here and then I will put up a review on dgcoursereview.com  A big thank you to everyone who made this course possible!!
