Now that I look at your map closer the hole numbers are all wrong. That must be the first map version that they come up with. I think the correct one you can find under the tournament blog.

Well I'm just a local guy down here that's only been playing for a little over a year now  thats trying to get it in playable condition.  The city is going to be the ones mowing out there. But left it up to the players to trim trees as needed. I'm just trying to do my part since I'm 5 minutes from it.  FTL sounds great and I can try and meet you guys out there sometime. But during the week I work till 230 in kcmo. FTL seems to be always started before I get off so have never been able to come play. With the map you downloaded its pretty close to where everything is located except hole 8 has been shortened, to before you cross the entrance road.  Hole 11 was pushed back about 30 feet under the big oaks. If anyone plays out here and has some suggestions post them on here and I will do my best to get done.

Was out there tonight and trimmed a few trees. Basket was put inside the shelter on hole 10. Hole 11s basket was moved back under the two big oaks instead of out in the grassy road where the temporary basket was set. Hole 8 was shortened to under the 2 maple trees before you crossed the  entrance road. Other than that everything is how we played it in the tournament. Hole 13 still needs trees cut and trimmed. And path cut from basket 12 to tee area 13. I got holes 1, 2, 7, 14, 16 and 17  trimmed and ready to go.  Now if we could get the fairways mowed a little wider that would be great. Got some trimmed branches to still clean up on hole 7, got dark on me had to stop for the night. I will get back out there tomorrow or saturday and get that cleaned up. Other than that the course is coming together nicely.

FTL would be fun. I live in baldwin, would like to meet you guys if I'm home to play with you. Got out there tonight and trimmed a few more trees on holes 1, 2 and 7. Already got holes 14, 16 and 17 trimmed. Hole 17 has a risk/ reward shot just like hole 13 will have. Still need to cut a path thru the trees  from hole 12 to tee area 13.  Some trees still need to be trimmed on hole 13 so you an see the basket. Maybe cut a small opening for a risk/reward shot or you can try an anhyzer shot around the finger of trees that protrude out in the fairway, giving us options on our shots. Probably be there tomorrow night cleaning up dead limbs and maybe some more trimming of trees, unless I'm playing a round somewhere. Met a couple guys playing out there tonight and got there opinions on what needed trimming, so that was helpful.

Was just out at the baldwin disc golf course to check the progress. The baskets have been installed. They even put the basket under the shelter on hole 10, like everyone wanted. Tees are marked by two yellow flags for now. Tees to be put in next year I believe.  I have done some tree trimming on a few holes. I'm gonna try and get out there this weekend and trim a few more. Fairways are still narrow but I'm sure they will take care of that when the city gets time. So go out and play the new course. Post your thoughts on what you think needs done on this post.  So we can make it the best that the course can be. If you need a course map you can find it posted earlier in this post.

Dennis dropped off the baskets sunday night to the city dept.  Basket installation may start in the next couple weeks we hope.  Depending on how much rain falls this week, I may try and get out and trim a few trees where needed. Have to see how quick the city gets out and mows down the patches of weeds on certain holes and widen a few of those tight fairways. Talked with steve friend at the city rec dept. Last night. Passed on that eveyone that played sunday would like to see the basket stay in the shelter on hole 10.  He's gonna run it by the city manager and see if they will okay it. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Was out there tonight, they mowed the green grassy area along the road and lake area ( only one day late) lol. I live in baldwin and will keep everyone  updated on all progress on what's been done out there.

Does anyone know if there's gonna be a prize money paid out or discs or what? No mention of that anywhere. I'm headed out there now to see if they've started setting up the baskets.

Just called mike carson. He will be out at the lake he thought sat. Night starting to set up the baskets. He will have a trailer with about 1000 discs for the tourney.  Drove out there a few minutes ago they have mowed the fairways today.  There not very wide though, gonna be tough to stay on them shot after shot. Should be interesting that's for sure.

So is the tournament on for sunday. I have afew fellows who want to play but they want to make sure its really gonna happen. Before they make the drive down.

I was just out there to check things out. How are we to play when the grassy area east of the lake is still waist high prairie grass thats not been mowed all year. Are you sure this is really going on. I live in baldwin and I don't see this working this sunday. I want to play and give my opinion on this course. I guess I ll have to go out and see if anybody shows up. Does anybody have more info on this tournament?

Around here we always called it the old city lake. The real name is spring lake. Its southeast of town about 3 miles or so. According to the recs dept. they were suppose tohave gotten the baskets in august. I drove out there and they hhaven't even brush hogged down the waist high prairie grass yet either. So I'm thinking that nothings going to get done till at least next spring.  I talked to rick at disc golf world and he knew who designed the holes.  He said it should be a creditable course. It will be a great place for me to play every evening since I'm only 5 minutes away from there. Heres to hoping the get things moving on it sooner than later.

Just heard a new course is going to be put in a spring lake south of baldwin kansas.  Theres to be 18 holes with 3 or 4 holes with water hazards. Possibly a basket inside one of the shelters that are at the lake already. Course will be on the east side of the lake on the grassy hill.  Looks to have holes with the distance of 300 feet for most of the holes.  Talked to the baldwin  city recs department and they want to make it a community project. There looking for volunteers to help to put in the pipes and baskets and clean up of the course such as tree trimming and brush removal. Dont know off hand what there number is but you could look it up and give them a call. Maybe they will move faster on the project if people start calling them up and asking about it.  Concrete tees to go in next year possibly.  They have a festival down here called the mapleleaf festival in october every year. Maybe we could start a mapleleaf disc golf tournament in a few years to coinside with the festival. Well that's just a thought.
