Just saw the post.

That's your basic crab apple there to the left of 11's pad.

Bad Rock just doesn't sound like a good thing.

Expedition is not too bad, but there's nothing wrong with Stocksdale Park DGC, IMO.

Since this will be my new home course, I'd rather it not have some awkward moniker.

Stocksdale park DGC sounds just fine to me.  No need to complicate things.

Unless the Pinky Memorial is still on the table.  Then that, of course.  But otherwise, just Stocksdale Park DGC gets my vote.

The Pinky Memorial, in honor of Pinky, who so willingly gave of herself trying to turn the corner on 14.  She will likely never be seen again after such an heroic display of aerial courage, but she will be forever missed.

Never forget!

I emailed Liberty parks with my thanks last week and encourage others to do the same.  I definitely appreciate all the hard work that went into getting this done.  This will be my new home course and I couldn't be more excited.

John, it's clear that you had a vision for how you'd like this course to be and worked very hard to make that happen.  You could have just stuck some holes out there any old kind of way, but all the planning and deliberate effort to incorporate all the elements that you did will make this a great course.  It will have been worth the wait.

I was out on Saturday and saw at least 4-5 other groups while I was on the course, which was great.  Word's already gotten out that this is going to be a great course and since it's a mixed use park, I think a lot of people will get introduced to the game that they might not have otherwise.

Great job!

Chris from Liberty Parks and Rec emailed me this map this afternoon and let me know that the course is now playable, but signage is not yet up.

It's hard to see the alt pins and gold baskets on the legend, but you can make them out on the map.

I'm sure that the signs that will be put up on the course will be much more clear.

Hooray!  And many thanks for all the hard work, guys!

DANGIT!  I can't attach the file b/c it says the file size is too large.

Any advice on how to post the pic??

Aha, that helps.

It was tough to figure out when I was out there.

Earlier in the post, I believe, John said 6 pads left to be put in.  Any idea which pads/pins are in place now?  If I knew that, it's be possible to hop/skip around and play the holes that are in place.  No need to worry about there not being a pad poured if there's a basket to throw to.

Muchas Gracias.

Thanks for the hard work John.  This should be really nice when done.  Tee signs are going to be crucial.  Even though I walked it last year, I forgot what was where and got all turned around.  It looks different than it did last summer.

I went out this past Saturday and tagged along with a group of random kids that said that they heard the course was supposed to open June 1st. It was fun even though we couldn't find our way around very well.

Head's up to anyone that does venture out there.... Poison Ivy is everywhere it could possibly be.  Along every path and pad in the woods and in and around all the treelines.  Basically everywhere that's not in the full sun.  I think I saw the biggest patch of shrub type growth around  what will be 18 that I've ever seen.  Almost hip high there and creeping around every path in the woods.   I've got to assume that control measures will be put in place, no?

I saw two yellow baskets, but mostly blue.  Are the blue going to be the course baskets and yellow warm-ups?

Found and Lost / BV ate my Teebird
« on: August 18, 2013, 01:51:27 PM »
Played BV yesterday and a brand spanking new Teebird disappeared on #1.  It had me bummed out the rest of the day.  2 bombers of Lagunitas Hop Stoopid and Stone Ruination didn't even help.  That's a serious type of bummed out.

The disc is probably in the fairway and I just couldn't find it.  The pin is set in the long position behind the playground and I was throwing from the bottom of the hill.  I swore I saw it kick up some grass right at the edge of where the rough meets the fairway at the top of the hill on the right, but got up there and couldn't find it.  After about 20 minutes of walking through the stickers, I just had to call it and move on, but I hate leaving my babies behind!  There were kids playing on the playground and 20 minutes of loitering around the playground area is official perv territory, so I had to call it.   >:(

The disc is Tie-Dye Champ, yellow in the middle and going into purple around the outside and brand new.  I thought it was bright enough, but apparently not.  More likely I'm not bright enough.  At any rate if you happen to be playing BV anytime soon, could you help a brotha out and scan around for that bird at the top of the hill on #1?

Name and number on inner rim.  Help is much appreciated and reward for safe return is offered.  Thanks!

Found and Lost / Re: Water Works at dusk = :(

Well, it's been closing in on 2 weeks and no word.  Thanks to all those who might have spent some time in the rough looking.

I've got to imagine that she's been picked up and kept.  It'd be hard to believe that with so many people out there recently that someone hasn't come across her, although stranger things have happened.  If I inked her, it was just on the rim and easily covered up.  I'll not hold out hope to get my baby blue back, but if anybody happens across some neerdowell that boasts of a pristine baby blue GL Saint that they just found at WW, punch 'em in the face, take the disc and give me a call.   ;)

If it turns out not to be mine, I'll make reparations.

Thanks.

Water Works / Water Works at dusk = :(

I lost a baby blue GL Saint on #10 at Water Works on Sunday.   I turned it over what I thought was just right, but it never flexed back out.  Just kept turning right and went over the hill crest, so I never saw it land.  It's possible that she glided all the way over to #8.  It was getting late, but I looked until I couldn't see anymore.  She's my go to girl on a lot of drives, but I'm not sure if I've inked her or not.  If I have, it's just on the inside rim.

With all the traffic that will be out there this week, I'm sure someone will find her but since I'm not sure if she's inked I don't know if I should hold out hope.  If anyone hears tell of a baby blue Saint being found, please give me a call at 816-898-6004.  Pick a reward disc or two out of my trunk if you want.  She just needs to come home!

Thanks so much.
