Blue Valley / Re: Earn your Green Frees.

Hey guys/gals, I am going to have a workday at Blue Valley next Saturday May 2nd from 9-11. I would like to work the area in between short
#7 and #3 tee pad. The reason for the work is because I set #7 in the long position (hasn't been there in several years) and it has gotten over grown. If you have a leaf blower, weed eater, chain saw, some loppers (or even just helping hands) please come out and help. This is one of the prettier parts of the park and will be an awesome par 5 - it totally deserves to be cleaned up.

I've got some projects that we could do at Blue Valley, how about April 25th?

There are only two red baskets on the course right now and I'll pull them both on Friday. BTW, the course is getting mowed today and tomorrow.

This is the way that I play the inner course 9-18
9. throw to red basket
10.use alt. pad and throw to #9 basket
11.use alt. pad and throw to #11 basket
12. throw to red basket
13. use alt. pad and throw to #13 basket
14.-18. play normal pads to their baskets.

We played the current (tourney) layout in 2.5 hours with a threesome today - while moving half a dozen baskets. I think the plan is to use the inner course for MM and the tourney layout for FTL. I will bring a few maps for MM.

Thanks Jack! Jim and I were hard at it again today. We set a short placement on #2, then we set a short placement for #5 only to realize that now we wanted to move "long" 5 up and to the right to make a more difficult green. Jim Kreeger and I set or leveled 7 placements in the last week or so and trimmed a bunch of trees. I am excited to see what people think of the new placements and the overall park. I also wanted to say thank you again to MikeK, Liz, NateZ, Jack, BenW, RobM, and my family for coming out to help with the Blue River Rescue last Saturday. With their help and about 20 other non DG'ers we put about 100 man hours cleaning the East side of the Blue Valley Disc Golf park.

Jack's correct, no lunch at the sites. I would rather hit a local restaurant (HI-BOY) and go back and play a rd.

It would be best to register and then meet at the nature center, that's what I'm doing. I would also be up for grabbing a burger from HI-Boy's and then a rd. afterwards.

Rob, if you are wanting to take part in the actual Little Blue River Rescue cleanup, then I would pre-register and then meet at the Nature center - we will all carpool to the various sites from there. If you want to just take part in a Blue Valley workday then just meet me at 9am @ the traffic triangle in between #7 and 8 at BV park. FYI -  the BV workday will consist of helping the LBRR goup.

Great schedule Rob! I am going to sign up for the first Longview tournament now.
I'm also glad that your using Blue Valley. With your use of baby blue as well as BIG blue that will be one fun round. I will try to get the main shelter house reserved for that day. I'll see you at BV for the Meandering Mondays opener!

Boy this is an old post. Well this event is happening again. This year will mark the 25th annual Blue River cleanup. This workday will be on March 28th from 8-11. When I see the pictures from what the park looked like in 2011, I am blown away. The progress that has been made at this park is nothing short of remarkable. Please make some time to help clean up our park. #eastsidepride

A rotating East side league on Saturday mornings would be cool. I would run a Blue Valley league once a month, or so.

I am having a "workday" this Saturday at 10 a.m. I will mostly be picking up trash in a few of the more trashy spots and also scouting for some new pin placements. I will be out there for a few hours working then I would be up for playing a rd.
