William Yates Elementary / Doin' some work at Yates

I fixed the short placement on #8 and cleared the fairway of honeysuckle on #9s fairway so that the DEEP placement is playable. Bring a putter and c'mon!

14 short to 16
12 short tee to 5
6 short tee to 10
11 long to 9 long across the street
ramp between baseball fields to 1
1 short tee to 11 mando between the 2 locusts, keeps disc away from cars and shelter
9 short to 7
10 short to 6
throw from damn near 6's basket to 12
5 short to 4
5 long to 14
15 short to 2 that's seventeen holes and not using hole 8, an 18th would be the shot back to the practice basket after classic 18, but it's a hike from 2, so maybe play classic 16 on your way
15 short to 2
I found this layout that appears to be the true "youngle".

William Yates Elementary / Re: Workday 11-20-17

We had a good "workday". Richard Rhone, Ben Whitesel, and All-Star volunteer Dean Gary showed up. We reset the #13 pin, and trimmed a bunch of problem trees and even did some weed wacking around a few tee pads. Pretty solid effort for two hours and four MEN.

We are going to have a workday at Yates this Sunday morning at 9:00 A.M. I would like to reset the missing basket (#13) and #14's tee sign. If a few people show up we could also clean up the fairway on #10 and dump some pee gravel in a few of the tee pads. If you care enough about this course to read this PLEASE come out. 2 hours and a few guys could have this course whipped back into shape!

Does anybody have any info on this event? Were there a bunch of extra baskets that showed up? Good turnout?

Thanks Kujo, how about Sunday at 8 or 9? Everything is cleared out, on hole 3, but I could use some help on something else out there. I'd be willing to play afterwards.

I could sure use some help tomorrow. I cleared a new route for the short pad on #3 and need some help cleaning up a bit. I would like to clear a little honeysuckle and move the downed trees to a nearby brushpile - it should only take an hour total (less if a couple people show up). After that is done I am going to play a rd. and try to determine the layout for the upcoming tourney - The Battle @ Blue Valley. Tacos will be provided after the rd. I will get started at 9 (or so) and will park over by the teepad for #3.

Young Park - Blue Springs / The trash is gone!
« on: January 22, 2017, 07:57:48 PM »
Ben had a workday rd. yesterday that turned into another one today. Ben and Joe were out there yesterday and Ben and I were out there today. We pulled trash out of every nook and cranny at that park, around 25 bags total! Ben has been working out there a lot lately and has big plans for the park this year.
