Blue Valley is basically unplayable right now, there are whole trees down all over the course. P&R got after the initial damage, from the storm a few weeks ago, but all of the rain that we've been having made the ground too wet for some of the larger trees. P&R have been notified and will get to it ASAP. I will report back when the cleanup is finished - Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I will be out at BV on Wednesday @ 11:00, getting the course ready for the Wide Open. I used the clubs new pole saw out there today and could use some help cleaning up the downed branches. A pair of gloves and a spare hour is all you need to help.

Don't forget about the "modified" Blue Valley, Harold.

I will be out at Blue Valley this Sat from 8am -12noon. I will be going through the Jr. course and finishing a project or two on the big course. Volunteers with rakes and/or weed eaters would be AWESOME. If you want to help at BV this year, this is the Workday to do it.

There is only two red baskets out right now. They are at alternate #9 and #12. The other red baskets will be put back out as soon as the Wide Open is over.

The course just wears people out, I see A LOT of people quit after #12. Bringing an extra bottle of water and a snack is a good idea.
Most of the work that goes on at BV right now is to flesh out the shorter placements on the course. By the end of the summer every hole will have a long and a short placement, all new maps, new flags, and a few more benches.

As far as other events - a putting competition gets my vote.

Had a productive work day today. Finished cleaning out the valley for long #7 placement and stumbled on the middle placements location (that never was installed) - it might be the best placement of the three. I put some before/after pictures on the KCFDC FB page if you want to see them.
