Blue Valley / Re: Earn your Green Frees.

It really would need to be mowed, it is way overgrown, and would take forever to do with a weedeater. I will talk with some higherups about putting this on the list to get mowed again (starting next year). Like Jack said, L7 would be a much better use of time - and really pretty easy to do.
I want to put a basket in the other end of L11's valley to be used as Short 13's pin placement, as it is all cleared out and ready to go. I think that valley, with all of the rock ledges, is the coolest of the whole park.

P&R says that they all ready have a signed contract for mowing the park and the field for L5 is not on the list, so maybe next year.

E-mail sent, we'll see what they say.

I will ask P&R if they can mow L5. S5 would be a good placement for the short course.

Putting a pin placement back (is it still there?) for L5 would be a big project and hard to maintain. My main focus is making the inner course more of a go to course and beautifing  BIG Blue for the big arms and Tournaments. Jack, I will be there for the May 5th league night.

I agree Jack, and there is more that I would add to the list. With a few more workdays/volunteers Blue Valley will be all that it can be for the Wide Open. It would be nice to do a walk through with you and give/get some ideas. I am working with P&R to get the rest of the brush piles and tree stumps removed. Super long 7 needs to be cleared for the WO, and I have some great ideas for new pin placements for L11, S13, L15, and L16.
I see 4 par 5's out there - for tournament play (3, 7, 9, 18)

Thanks to all who came out and helped today - the park looks awesome, and is ready for some tournament play. See you guys at the COF.

I puled a large bag trash off of #1 and another off of #12 (the mtnbkrs got some there too) #1 looks good but #12's hill is depressing. Signs won't help (even if they are written in Spanish) they know they're not supposed to dump there. I would put some boulders beside the road so you can't park and dump by #1's hill and by the road at #12's tee pad.

@Jack, I couldn't make it to Cliff tonight but I am planning on going out there tomorrow about 6:30, I'll put in a little time on #1. I also got in touch with the Earthriders and got a group together to help clean the hill beside #12. (they don't even play disc golf, they just want to show their appreciation for us sharing the park.)

I was planning on bagging the inner course baskets at Blue Valley on Thursday. I have large yellow trash bags and some zip ties, is that all right?

Shout out to FTL for cleaning as they played last Friday 6-8 bags of trash cleaned up - not bad. With the addition of the boulders/cameras past hole #12 and the partnership with the Earthriders that area should be better in the future.
The hill at hole # 1 just needs to be picked up regularly. BTW, I am going to detrash hole #1 this Thursday in anticipation of COF.

FTL will be playing/picking up trash/downed limbs this Friday at BIG BV. For those familiar with FTL you would know that they are a two round group. The morning rd. is when we will do the cleaning so if your interested come on out. Beer and dogs will be served in between rounds.  COF is the next day and it would be a great opportunity to give some karma to the course - give on Friday and receive on Saturday.

The morning round is when I would like to ask people to help clean the course. P&R will pick up all of the roadside trash and limbs at 1:00 (so it's not sitting out there during the COF) I will bring goodies for lunch. I hope this doesn't scare off anybody as it shouldn't be that big of a hassle and will be much appreciated by the tournament goers this Saturday.
