Blue Valley / Re: Kids league

I see this as more of a Summer league, I will post more about this as other kid events (soccer, baseball, etc.) come to a close and everybody has a little more free time.

4 of us out today on a nasty day. Thanks for the help Mike and Chris. 8 man hours total. Maybe another opportunity to put a couple hours in on March 15th. To be determined...

Maybe postponing an official workday for two weeks wouldn't be a bad idea, but I will be out there cutting tree shoots and taking out some honeysuckle bushes - there is soo much to do. If people want to come out, I will be there.

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't look at the calendar before I posted. Maybe Sat. April 12th would work better, it would give everybody a peek at the course before the City of Fountains tourney the following weekend Sat April 19th. I will ask the people that show up this weekend what they want to do. I will still go up there and play a 20 hole rd. on April 20th though.

There is a big workday scheduled for this Saturday March 1st. If you can come out for a couple of hours it would be much appreciated. I will be out there @ 10, but the workday hours are from 11-1. I am organizing a disc golf Party on April 20th to be held @ BV. We will play 20 holes (Short BV + Long 17 & 18) To be invited all you have to do is volunteer out there for a few hours on the March or April workdays (or both). I hope to see you out there!

I do think people want to help make the courses better, but a little recognition never hurts. What if you could earn a spot at a club sponsored tourney by putting in some volunteer hours at a local course? A Earn your Green Free tourney. Or EARN mulligans, by volunteering, to be used at the first round of the club champion. Also, I agree with John  - a nine hole course at Penn Valley would be a great way to go - better than an unused field.

Hey Jack, could we put a permanent short course basket on the left, short pin placement?

I guess I spoke too soon, no fires at the park.

Man, the weather didn't cooperate today. Still put in 4 hours total. Cleared fairway trees on the back nine, and picked up all of the trash from hole #10. The March workday will be big a big one. We are going to have a bonfire on hole #11 to clear brush from the course. Food and beverages will be provided.

Plan of Attack - We will be cutting tree shoots and honeysuckle off of the fairway trees and adding said brush to the large brush pile that are scattered throughout the course. P&R is going to remove the piles once we are done (also remove dead trees/stumps). I would ask anybody who planned on coming out to bring a hand saw, I only have two extra. As an added incentive to the volunteers - we will be hitting Hi-Boys (best burger in town) for lunch afterwards. We will get started @ 11, I will be out there @ 10:30. Hope to see ya'll out there.

The officer said it was because of Kansas only having plates on the rear of the vehicle, and that people would try to hide their expired tags by backing in. I told him that I was from Mo., he told me that I still would of got the ticket." BTW, are you guys saying only gay guys, looking for love on the DL, back in to parking spots.

While I was out there today, they were writing tickets in the parking lot. Lucky for me I was warned that they would ticket for backing in. I asked the officer, that was out there, if that was true and he confirmed that it was. It is posted but I just couldn't believe it.
