Here are the basics...

Novice Divisions - $15
$2 Ace Fund (CTP if no ace hit)
Minimum of 3 to open a division

For any questions call Brandon @ 785-342-7162

What are the chances there will be at least 3 Novices?  Also what does CTP mean?

I wouldn't judge the Mo-Kan guys by their website.  CD and Laron in particular, go out of their way to help new players and spread the ways of the disc.  I would recommend attending one of their clinics if you get the chance.

Right on Sean, I wasn't judging them from that I was talking about his comment about them not feeling like they need to do anything.  I heard that from another person as well.  Heck I'd love to go a clinic for beginners as I need as much help as possible.

I think I'll drive by Rosedale on my way to work tomorrow and see if the flyer survived the storm last night.  If I remember it was not insed the glass case.

TommyMarin - I have already heard that once about the Mo-Kan pro's :) and I've only been around for a month!

General Banter / Innova X-Outs?

I did find a site that sold Miss-Stamped Innova's as practice sets for $5.  Not much savings there as opposed to buying them locally, but here is the site if anyone is interested:

Probably MO-KAN's Spring Fling for Bling Bling.......check out their website

Thank you I'm not sure if that's the same event or not.  There was a flyer at Rosedale Monday for it.  But that site doesnt give you any information except a place and a date.  You'd think a start time registration time etc might be helpful to a few people

Thus the name Ted's Dread.  It can be scary!

No really... it's all about the fun.  Novice division won't be but 10 or 15 bucks for an experience you'll remember for a long time.  It is always a blast.  Come on out!

I dont know the history of the course but I do know there is a Ball Golf course out that way called Dub's Dread.  Every year they have a tournament called the Monster Mash and it plays crazy long.  Possible similarities?  Perhaps.

What club or associations do you have to belong to, to participate in this type of tournament.  I might take your advice and come out and hack it up.

I think this course sounds like it's going to be a bit too difficult for me.  Maybe next year :D

Thanks for the answers.

Could someone please explain how the tournament ranking or classes goes?  With Tournament (ie Tin Man's Forest) do you have to be a club member,  or PDGA member?

I am interested in Playing the Tin Man's Forest course if there is a novice/beginner tier.

Good call Sean.

If you are just picking up disc golf the beginners league is a great place to start. You do have to put up with Paul... but even so it's a perfect way to learn the basics of our sport.

The other club leagues do have a weekly entry fee. Depending on interest there will be various divisions, which may include:

Masters (40+)

The Open and Masters divisions are generally paid back in cash. The amateur divisions are paid back in KC Kash. Monopoly type money that can be used to purchase discs or other club merchandise.

So the beginners league cost's $5 to play winners of that league get their money back in KC Kash, to buy plastic etc.?  Where do you use the KC Kash?  Also could you let me know where to go as far as the beginning of the league?

Thanks, Dennis

Welcome to KC disc golf.  Although we call them leagues, they function more like weekly mini tournaments rather than a multi-week league(bowling, pool, etc).  You show up at the course on league night, pay your money ($5), pick a division, and play a round of golf.  Winnings are distributed that evening.  This allows you to play whenever you get the opportunity, which can be 5 nights a week :)

With the beginners league is there going to be expierenced players also playing for the money prize ie Sandbaggers?  I didn't know there was any money involved at all but I like it that there is :D

If you can make it out to Rosedale on Monday night the Beginners league is starting up.  It will be my first go at a league as well so I'm not too sure about the particulars, but from what I understand it's alot of fun and there is no cost involved.
