Are you sure Andy?  It says on the Ice Bowl registration that they will be available there.  That leads me to think they are already finished or close to being finished  ???

This is currently on hold until the Spring.  But most of the guys who have played in the New Players League for the last year or so are still showing up at Rosedale on Mondays to play Glow golf.  We tee off at 6pm Snow, Ice, or whatever.

Theis, I am sorry but I do not know who this guy is.  Is there any chance you'd be able to ask him and see if has any ideas?

What we are looking for right now is someone who could design us something cool, and functional.  From what I've heard we got a sweet deal on last years tags and could acquire the same deal for '08.  The only thing really lacking is a creative and interesting design.

So Bradley if your buddy can produce some cool design the club and everyone else would certainly like to take a look at it.  See if he'll put something out there for and post a pic of it here.

I believe we are talking about increasing the number to 200 this year.

Tournaments / Re: Ice Bowl - 2008

Some other cities use smaller winter tournaments to build up the donations as well.  Like having a Winter tournament series or something playing on Saturday's at different courses around the city.  Everyone would pay a entry fee like normal except all of the winnings or a portion of them goes into a giant fund that keeps getting rolled over for the Ice Bowl.

Now I understand it might be too late to do something like that this year but it's an idea we could use for next year.

You guys should probably note that in an obvious manner or you re liable to get people showing up that think that it's a regular league.

Here is the biggest difference we don't call it a LEAGUE!!!!!!   There are no stat's, prizes, winners, losers.  So maybe this needs to be moved to Rosedale forum and out of Winter leagues.  It's simply a Gathering at Rosedale on Monday nights and I've invited anyone and everyone that wants to show to come.  It's no big deal really guys.  We did not set out with the purpose of competing with Olathe.  In fact we even tried to send Olathe Mark Martin last night when he figured out he wasn't going to win any money from us.

So I hope there is no hard feelings, we're just a bunch of hack golfers that like to throw discs in the dark.

The club certainly needs a secretary in a bad way. I can't even remember the last news letter. There hasn't been many of those in the last 3 or so years.

What's does being secretary involve?  That may be a position I'd be interested in.

The Secretary is responsible for taking meeting minutes (either he or she does it and finds someone do it--thanks Kevin!!). After that, the minutes are written up and sent to the rest of the EC for approval. Once the minutes are approved, the Secretary posts them out here, perhaps through Topica (although that will likely be phased out  next year), and if they are really, really good, to get them posted on course boards.

The Secretary is also the lead person in getting newsletters out, ideally at least four times a year, and perhaps up to 6 mailings a year. Important information to convey includes announcements about elections, general meetings, events, work days, picnics, parties, hangings, etc. To foster better communication, the Secretary needs to be in almost constant communication with the other members of the EC to get them to share in the communication process. Having good writing skills is a big asset for anyone who is Secretary. A Secretary with some internet skills is plus as we'll want to send electronic newsletters when possible to save money and time. Once the NL is laid out, it must be printed, folded, addressed, stamped, and delivered to the post office. Extra copies should be delivered to league directors and DGW. A conscientious Secretary will likely be spending 20-30 hours per month.

I think I've got all of those qualifications.  Does someone have to nominate you for these positions?

I nominate Chris for secretary.

Yes we tee off at 6ish.  I do not think it's supposed to rain today but we'll probably be there anyway.

Does the course run east bound for hole 1 from the softball field or south from the softball field.  I also went to scope out the progress yesterday and saw nothing either.

I would agree some spicing up is necessary for the upcoming year as long as we don't put a money value or enforced betting.

Guth what are some other things you are seeing other clubs do?

What time are you wanting everyone to get started for the last league of the season (I think  ???).  If we have a foursome coming out can we just start a card and go?
