port-a-potties, with or without attendants, will make this game more convenient for older players with bladder problems. weed and sanitary facilities, though not necessary, do enhance the overall disc golf experience. also well maintained bridges if you hadn't noticed!

it's just a movie dude, but it does include specific throw definition, the script is humorous, 2 of 3 characters are very believable, and the conclusion is the sound of chains. best of all the film is produced on the golf course by casual golfers. i would imagine more clips from these guys, especially with such emotional reviews from viewers incapable of intelligent DISCourse. lack of a soundtrack or any distracting music during the film is a bonus.

Tournaments / Re: Collegiate golf update
« on: February 28, 2012, 12:00:58 PM »
quote from #1 ranked university of arkansas:

The Gateway Collegiate Classic will be the largest collegiate disc golf tournament ever organized since the inception of collegiate disc golf (other than the National Championships). I can't express how impressed I am with the help I have received in organizing this tournament. This has far exceeded my expectations. The cave event that we are organizing for the Friday before the tournament has been a HUGE pull for collegiate teams.

The tournament is reaching its expected capacity of 22 teams. This includes teams from a variety of cultures and geographic regions (Alabama, Notre Dame, Purdue, Illinois, to mention a few). With such a large field of teams, I have spoken with the coordinator of the National Collegiate Disc Golf Union and it is likely that the Gateway Collegiate Classic will receive two Nationals bids.

We highly encourage spectators for this tournament. I expect a very intense battle for the tournament title and also for the bids for Nationals. Collegiate tournaments are unlike most disc golf tournaments. These players will be playing for school pride. Teams will be supporting their school colors and jerseys. You may see blow up mascots, flags, pop-up tents, and even collegiate chants (you'll definitely be hearing Arkansas call the hogs).

Come check out this event! It will be a unique look at the promising future of collegiate disc golf and the sport of disc golf as a whole.

even at 2 weeks out sh1t can happen, captains may need to find a couple of alternates to be able to field a full 16 player team, just think if one of your female players was whitney houston, eh, you'd lose an entire match or something over that. hey tracy, what happens if there's only 15 on our team?

fortunately, having more sanctioned events this year between kcfdc and dd, a player could see what a typical rated round at a course would be. i do not know the cost of rated league rounds, but this is a perfect opportunity for kcfdc to address the pdga on cost containment. ie; we love the pdga and regret we will not paticipate since our club members can't afford it

used 3 discs, no foot faults, no gimmes, no "play-through" delays thank god, and realized it might be smarter to lay up in front of the basket rather than 10 feet past. hells  bells i went for every bird i could, and kept putting back to the chains adding distance. was fatigued after 7 holes but the rush i got was incredible after the first 14 holes. i'm not a runner but i never walked, a few shots i stopped to regulate my breathing and compose. i only made one putt over 20 feet and managed to park 2 drives.

just shot a one down in 33 minutes at WW, first round of my life purposely not smoking a cigarette, 3 birds and a double-bogey on 6 long. :)

i guess that score <33 + 53> is an 86, timko - i'll try to break 80 this year

league rating of 420, pdga is a fine organization, but stay the freak outta our wallets, some of us want a seniors discount just for dues.

i'd like to propose:
east vs west first weekend in october, all our courses should be sweet by then
qualifying at tournaments<kan-U, KCWO> - top 4 scores regardless of division played, exception - ladies
tracy - what a job figuring qualifiers at leagues!

that'sall, just trying to ball the roll going

also a sidenote on the music at WYCO is really good when it's playing at the shelter

i know the corses haven't been decided, but smithville is incredibille, and a lot of top kansas players shoot well there too, so if you wanted that for finals, the complex could handle a ton of casuals and club members, in addition to the 32 contestants. check with dan cuz i am so sure that getting a pavillion and planning would take quite a bit of time but be worth it in the long run.
