Found and Lost / Lost Ice Bowl full color Roc on Rosedale Hole 3
« on: June 01, 2011, 07:58:38 AM »
My buddy lost his Ice Bowl full color Roc on the left side on Rosedale Hole 3 up top. Possibly went down the hill. There is a signature AJ on the bottom. A much loved disc and beer provided for the finder. Thanks.

Found and Lost / Lost Watch at Waterworks Hole 6-7
« on: May 21, 2011, 02:21:58 PM »
Lost watch: silver and has oval head with open band of links. Lost during round at Waterworks. Was used on Hole 6, and disappeared on either that hole or on Hole 7. Belongs to my mom, so it would rock if you found and returned it. Beverage of choice to finder. Thanks!

Lost Blue Star Firebird-168g. Faded stamp. May have AJ initials on back and may have pdga #. Probably Hole 1.

Played there today, April 23. Fairways mostly mowed, but the dandelions and small purple flowers make the course more beautiful than usual.  Yeah for BV!

General Banter / Re: Worlds is Smokin...well maybe not....

"There are two worlds in the Disc Golf community: Those who see it as a recreational past time, and those who see it as a sport"--Someone earlier posted this comment.

I agree with this, as I feel there are several types of disc golfers with several goals in relation to the game/sport. But I don't think smoking cigarettes has anything to do with how we label the player.  I have been to and played in several Wide Opens as well as Worlds in 2009, and 2 of the top pros (Climo and Feldberg) were smoking cigarettes; one even bummed a couple from me.

I watch bowling, as mentioned in a prior post, and the players are not allowed to smoke or drink while wearing their team shirts. So, maybe the PDGA will require such rules. Either way, it is their choice, but I don't believe smoking at a tournament shows legitimacy of the sport.

Thanks to Becky Stebbins for being the queen of the Ice Bowl Page. It was great to see what was setup and how everyone posted pictures and got pumped for the Ice Bowl.

I had a blast, and thanks a ton to everyone who contributed. Ya'll rock.

Found and Lost / Lost Purple Pro Firebird at Cliff Drive

It has been a few weeks. On the hill to the right of Hole 10 at Cliff Drive. Didn't fly all the way down to 8's fairway, as I checked.

I would like to come and play as I normally teach Monday nights.

So, random draw dubs? Do any leagues have bring-your-own-partner? That's always cool too.

Also, if playing singles, will the people on that card all be playing singles?

Thanks, this sounds great. I want to play Cliff more, but it makes me feel better in groups (not that Cliff is dangerous, but there are very few parks I feel safe going alone to-got to use my preservation skills)

General Banter / Re: New things to do at the Disc Golf Course???

Yes, when Swope Hole 14 was on the island, I threw my 2nd or 3rd shot over the road, and it flew under some "bouncing" Blazer.
The windows were down, and I would have left the disc, but it was a borrowed and beloved disc.

So, I tiptoed over there, ducked down, slithered under the vehicle, obtained the pink Wraith, and got out without notice. But for a second, I felt like I was part of it. Ha Ha.  :D

I went down and stayed in Clearwater in January of this year. Cliff Stephens Park is incredible! I also played at Tocabago in St. Petersburg. Tons of fun. The latter was right next to the Gulf and on an Indian burial site, so they had moved some holes. I want to go back. Great place.
