Awesomesauce.....

Seen in Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, Miami, FL.

Although a Swope model would likely need titanium and 6" unbreakable plexiglass....

Found and Lost / FOUND - Star Roadrunner @ Rosie labeled Whorton
« on: September 05, 2012, 05:50:43 PM »
Found a white star Roadrunner at Rosie yesterday.  Found DU on #17, but I think it's just as likely that it was lost on #7 up top.

Only thing on the disc is "WHORTON" spelled twice.

Anybody?  Anybody?  Bueller?

Swope / Swope pic from KCFDC main page?
« on: July 09, 2012, 10:59:44 AM »
Hey,

Anybody know who took/owns this pic?

I've always thought this was awesome, and would like to use it.  I was wondering if anyone had info on the origin of the pic?  Is there a bigger version available somewhere, and if so could I copy it?  I know I could probably reproduce it by taking my own pic in the same position, but I like the greenery in this.

Just curious... thanks...

Smithville / Camping/Golfing at Smithville... Recommendations??
« on: April 27, 2010, 12:07:56 PM »
Howdy all,

A group of us are planning on camping at Smithville this weekend, rain withstanding.  And I had a couple questions I was hoping someone may be able to help me with.

First, we'd like a campsite close to the disc golf course.  But we'd strongly prefer one that has electrical hookups.  We'll just be in tents, but electrical hookups have been requested.  I'm not sure if that's possible, but if so what's the best location?  Any ideas on price?

I've looked on the Smithville Lake website, and it's not very helpful with regards to this.  Hopefully someone here will have an idea.

Big thanks for any and all recommendations.

If the weather is nice, come out and join us this weekend!

Found an orange Pro Boss at Rosie yesterday.  Has Deano's name on it, but no phone number.

I'll drop it off at DGW if I don't hear from him over the weekend.

Found and Lost / Lost @ Rosie - Orange First Run Destroyer
« on: December 22, 2009, 09:14:53 AM »
Lost a favorite disc at Rosedale.  It's an orange first run Destroyer.  The metallic star on the top is all but totally faded, and I'm not sure how good of shape my name and number are on the bottom.  But I'll kindly offer up a sixer of your beer of choice for its return.  It had a LED light taped to the top... lotta good that did.....

Lost on #18, probably 50 feet or so in front of the current pin placement.

Thanks,

Fish

Found and Lost / LOST - White tie-dye Star Orc @ PC
« on: May 21, 2009, 11:25:30 AM »
So one of the disc-eating trees on Hole 18 swallowed my disc yesterday.  It's a treasured favorite.  White with some red/blue tie-dye stripes.  I would gladly reward its return.  If anybody happens to notice it after it works its way through the tree digestion process, please let me know.  It has my name/number on it, but I'm not sure how faded it is.

Thanks,

Fish

General Banter / K-State bans disc golf during daylight hours
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:53:11 PM »
Man this is disappointing.  I lived a block from campus for quite a while when I went to K-State.  I have very fond memories of playing the campus course.  It's not often that you can walk to a disc golf course on a whim.

K-State bans disc golf during daylight hours

Steven Miller

Published: Friday, February 20, 2009

At Thursday night's Student Governing Association meeting, Faculty Representative Bill Muir announced a new policy that limits the playing of disc golf on the K-State campus.

The policy officially bans the sport on the main campus from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and was prompted by university administrators' concerns.

"The policy is in response to thousands of dollars in damage to university buildings," Muir said.

According to the policy, "persons choosing to play disc golf on the university main campus may be asked by KSU Police to provide personal identification. Police can then determine whether the player is a repeat offender, or whether or not the player is responsible for 'campus damage or injury.'"

The issue was originally raised at a Dec. 5, 2008 Student Senate meeting after a woman was hit with a rogue frisbee and later suffered from serious nerve damage.

"As a point of information, the policy applies to disc golf only, not to people playing traditional frisbee," said Senate Vice Chair Emily Haug, junior in marketing and political science.

Violators of this policy could find themselves facing criminal charges for trespassing or be removed or banned from campus.

However, administrators said they do not mean to completely discourage this popular pastime. Haug discussed the possibility of constructing a disc golf course near the campus.

Swope / Drainage Grate on Hole #9
« on: August 06, 2008, 02:40:14 PM »
I wanted to mention that the drainage grate down near the rocks on #9 has been damaged somehow.  Part of the grate that covers it is missing.  It has a hole in it large enough to lose a leg in.

I put a large rock over the hole, so nobody will fall in.

Just wanted to let people know....

Found and Lost / Lost - Tie Dye Star Orc at Swope
« on: August 04, 2008, 11:33:09 AM »
Lost a Star Orc on #10 at Swope.  Down in the rocks.  White with red and blue tie dye stripes.  It had my name on it, Fish, with my old phone number 785.532.9971.  I recently switched phones, and didn't update my new number on the disc.  If anybody happened to stumble across it, I'd love to get that one back.
