General Banter / Re: Non Disc Golf: Chiefs Tickets on Sale
« on: February 24, 2009, 02:57:18 PM »
Thanks Rick.  That's great, and I'm excited about the Chiefs.  But just so you know, that's the same price they're offering the general public...  They have a habit of marketing things like you're the only one getting the deal.

Group tickets are the way to go for discounts.  You have to buy 20+ tickets to a single game though to get the good discount.  My family does this every year, and it's tons of fun.

A KCFDC group outing would kick ass....

General Banter / K-State bans disc golf during daylight hours
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:53:11 PM »
Man this is disappointing.  I lived a block from campus for quite a while when I went to K-State.  I have very fond memories of playing the campus course.  It's not often that you can walk to a disc golf course on a whim.

K-State bans disc golf during daylight hours

Steven Miller

Published: Friday, February 20, 2009

At Thursday night's Student Governing Association meeting, Faculty Representative Bill Muir announced a new policy that limits the playing of disc golf on the K-State campus.

The policy officially bans the sport on the main campus from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and was prompted by university administrators' concerns.

"The policy is in response to thousands of dollars in damage to university buildings," Muir said.

According to the policy, "persons choosing to play disc golf on the university main campus may be asked by KSU Police to provide personal identification. Police can then determine whether the player is a repeat offender, or whether or not the player is responsible for 'campus damage or injury.'"

The issue was originally raised at a Dec. 5, 2008 Student Senate meeting after a woman was hit with a rogue frisbee and later suffered from serious nerve damage.

"As a point of information, the policy applies to disc golf only, not to people playing traditional frisbee," said Senate Vice Chair Emily Haug, junior in marketing and political science.

Violators of this policy could find themselves facing criminal charges for trespassing or be removed or banned from campus.

However, administrators said they do not mean to completely discourage this popular pastime. Haug discussed the possibility of constructing a disc golf course near the campus.

This masterpiece is called Hard Ticket to Hawaii. How it didn't win any Oscars is beyond me...

This line is straight classic....

Rowdy Abilene: [as Colleen jogs away] Hey Colleen! You've got a great ass.
Colleen: [stops and looks back] So do you pilgrim.

Rowdy Abilene.... seriously... Rowdy Abilene. That's like right up there with screen names like John Rambo and Snake Plisskin...

Swope / Drainage Grate on Hole #9
« on: August 06, 2008, 02:40:14 PM »
I wanted to mention that the drainage grate down near the rocks on #9 has been damaged somehow.  Part of the grate that covers it is missing.  It has a hole in it large enough to lose a leg in.

I put a large rock over the hole, so nobody will fall in.

Just wanted to let people know....

I found it and put it in the drop-box. Sorry. Meant to post that I had found it. It was awfully pretty. ;)

Thank you very very much.  I owe you a beer or 3.

This is the first disc that has ever made it back to me.

Found and Lost / Lost - Tie Dye Star Orc at Swope
« on: August 04, 2008, 11:33:09 AM »
Lost a Star Orc on #10 at Swope.  Down in the rocks.  White with red and blue tie dye stripes.  It had my name on it, Fish, with my old phone number 785.532.9971.  I recently switched phones, and didn't update my new number on the disc.  If anybody happened to stumble across it, I'd love to get that one back.

well, if you play rosedale, you've seen him.

It's Nathan.

That guy's a douchebag.  He screwed over a friend of mine in similar fashion.  He's also a pathological liar.  I golfed a round with him once, and some of the better stories were that he was a professional MMA fighter, renowned glass blower, and that when he was a boy, a group of thugs tied up his parents and made him fight for their lives.  He supposedly fought off 4 guys and saved his parents or some such craziness.

I happen to have his phone number if anyone would like to get in touch with him about that lost disc....

Sounds like a good deal of SQL involved.... correct?

Sounds interesting, but possibly more SQL than I'd enjoy...

Bag Tags / Re: 2008 Bag Tags
« on: March 12, 2008, 04:59:16 PM »
So you're looking for tags 1 through 10 ... well I was lucky enough to have drawn No. 8 at the Ice Bowl and have yet to play a round in which I would lose it, which for sure will happen, as I am still an amateur. So catch me out at Swope or Rosedale some lucky Saturday or Sunday, and you can have your shot at No. 8.

Hehehe..... soon we shall play for it........

Would anyone eat my deer chili?  It's quite tasty, but some people are put off by the fact that it's deer meat.

If there would be interest, I'll bring some.....
