General Banter / Fringe festival
« on: July 25, 2013, 05:42:35 PM »
This is unrelated to disc golf entirely....BUT!

If you're wanting to have some fun, check out my Fringe Festival performances.   Two left!  One tonight at 9:00 PM and one on Saturday at 7:30 PM.  Both are in the historic Unicorn Theater.   http://www.kcfringe.org/artist.php?ID=31

I'd love to see some familiar faces in the crowd!  And I'll do my best to make you laugh (even if it is laughing at me).

General Banter / Pictures of Disc Golf!
« on: July 08, 2013, 08:19:30 PM »
Hello KCFDC crew,

I saw today that the Missouri Secretary of State is holding a photo contest:  http://www.sos.mo.gov/photocontest/contestinfo.asp  and I thought immediately about us for category #1.    Does any one have some contest winning photos from the wide open or other tournaments?  I think it would be great for the club and for disc golf to have a published disc golf pictures in this!

Hit me up if you have questions.   I have some insider info.

Best
Ryan

Rosedale / AWESOME WORK - DOWN UNDER
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:11:57 AM »
Thank you to everyone working on the down under course.   It looks great.   The stump benches are really cool.  I'm sorry that I don't know everyone's names to thank them personally, but know that my thank you is sincere to all of you.

Does anyone know the hours of that little bar by Woodhenge #18?  I want to plan a day of play out there, but will surely need to stop off for refreshments.

Rosedale / Down Under Work Day
« on: September 11, 2011, 05:24:34 PM »
Hello friendly club members, all of whom love to play the Down Under course at Rosedale...

I would like to coordinate a work day for ol' D.U.  There are some trees that fell in the fairway that I think we could get rid of.   I do not own any equipment for this, but I have plenty of determination and a little bit of time.   Does anyone with chainsaws and what not want to come help me clear the fallen trees?

My schedule is fairly open in the morning, especially the early morning.  I am willing to meet up on weekends too.   I really want to take care of this - but I need help.

Reply with times/dates that work.   And please include any equipment you may have.

Best,
Ryan

General Banter / Sassy Paint
« on: September 07, 2011, 08:26:42 PM »
I would love to see how this stuff would look on a disc golf basket:  http://www.glonation.com/unpigmented-glow-paint.php

Don't worry, I won't buy it and then start painting baskets without talking to anyone first.  I mean, who would do that? Seriously. But I may buy it and paint my own chains.

Rosedale / Hole #9

Anyone have inside knowledge on what is going on with hole #9 and the expanded fairway?  I feel like I missed a topic or something.

Rosedale / Big thanks to Steve Engleman
« on: July 31, 2011, 07:13:08 PM »
Steve has been emptying the garbage from the entire Down Under course this month and (I believe) finished the entire course.   It has been very hot and nasty, and that garbage is HEAVY.     Many thanks, Steve.

General Banter / Freestyle Canoe Dancing
« on: June 14, 2011, 06:21:54 PM »
We all take disc golf very seriously, because we love it.  But we need to remember once and a while that the rest of the world views us similarly to professional Freestyle Canoe Dancers.

Glad we have such nice club members to geek out on a hobby with.

Found and Lost / Garage Door Opener
« on: March 16, 2011, 02:11:05 PM »
Garage door opener lost somewhere between hole #1 and hole #8 at Rosedale Down Under.   Belongs to Charlie Stout (superior long bearded down underplayer).   Saw him looking for it today.  If anyone sees it, let me know and I'll make sure he gets it.   Thanks!

Swope / Bag Stolen!!!
« on: March 15, 2011, 07:42:56 PM »
Styles was warming up his putts, his bag resting on his car.   Two African American women, one heavy, one not, grabbed his bag and took off in their car.   It was a green Pontiac.  The alleged were posing as new disc golfers, each tossing a disc around the parking lot baskets (#16 mostly).   He lost his discs, cellphone, wallet, car keys, iPod, etc.

Keep a look out!  (and keep a look out for his discs!)

General Banter / Question of Money for the PDGA savvy
« on: March 07, 2011, 10:48:06 AM »
I have a question for all you in the know about the PDGA.  If LaCastro and Anthon tied, why did LaCastro earn more money?

General Banter / Naming My Home Brewery
« on: January 26, 2011, 09:48:05 PM »
Hey guys!  I started homebrewing.  Along with all the fun of making beer, drinking beer, etc, comes the fun of labeling them.   Of course, I need a name to put on the label.   These are the choices people have offered to me so far.   Your input is greatly appreciated!  Choose the one that appeals to you.

Found and Lost / Lost Nebula "Ace Race 2008"
« on: November 15, 2010, 05:07:16 PM »
Lost a hunter orange 2008 Ace Race disc (nebula) on hold #5 down under.   Contrary to what you're thinking, it was a long shot to the left of the big fairway tree.   It is possible that it picked up and started rolling, or more likley that it hid under some leaves.

It has a personal note on the back from a good friend.  Let me know if you see it!
