General Banter / Disc golf history lesson
« on: January 30, 2009, 09:01:27 AM »
There was a thread posted on discgolfreview's forums with some video from the 1979 frisbee championships.

One of the comments to this thread mentioned that the discs they were using were the CPI All Stars.  From what I learned on the Internet, Whamm-o bought this company out because the disc was superior to their comparable mold (I assume the 40 mold).  I was wondering if some of the folks who have been around the game for a while could enlighten us newbies about this darker side of the sport.

Swope / 10-21 League
« on: October 21, 2008, 07:12:11 PM »
We got rained out.  Which was a bummer for Jason and Leo's team, because they were -6 and well into the best shot holes.  I gave some folks their money back.  For those who I didn't pay, come out next week and your entry will be covered.

The last Swope League is next week.  Once again, we'll be playing 666 random doubles.

Swope / Swope League - 15 Oct 2008
« on: October 15, 2008, 11:27:07 AM »
7 out for a dreary day of golf.  The rain stayed away yesterday though.

With the waning hours of light and the smaller attendance, we'll be doing some sort of doubles league next week.  Please be there before 5 so we can start as close to 5 as possible.

Steve Harris - 54
Jason Lyon - 55
Chris Timko - 55
Fred Fortson - 58
TJ Ring - 59
Andre Labuyere - 60
Bret Long - 64

Found and Lost / Found Wraith

I found a pro wraith at Rosedale.  But it appears that S. Drew's number is no longer in service.

Found and Lost / Lost Wizard
« on: September 02, 2008, 02:25:24 PM »
I lost my yellow Grateful Disc Club wizard last evening throwing into the pin on 2 Up Top.  I think it's down under (hole 3 or 4 depending on a kick or roll), but 20 minutes of searching didn't yield any results (well, aside from the 3 other discs I found).  It's yellow, very beaten up, very dimpled, and has my info on it.

If anyone finds it, you have your pick of cash or discs.  If anyone sees someone with it, tell them the same.  I'd really like to get it back.

Just curious if this course has been set yet.  If it has, I may try to make it out tomorrow.

Blue Valley / Blue Valley Wide Open Settings
« on: May 29, 2008, 09:30:38 AM »
Is this course going to be totally tipped out?  Dan is probably the one to ask, since he's the one (I think) moving the pins out there, but I was curious if anyone knows.

Found and Lost / Lost Roc at Shawnee Mission Park
« on: May 13, 2008, 08:28:39 AM »
#16, past the pin and right.  Red 175 dx roc with my info on the back.

Lost my straightest and my flippy Roc in 2 days.  Man, that's rough.  I hate losing rocs.

On a side note, if anyone has any broken in dx rocs in the 174 and up range, let me know.  I'm willing to buy/trade for them.  KC are all right too, but they have to be really beat.

Club Archives / Waterworks
« on: May 12, 2008, 09:00:00 AM »
Someone asked me this question this weekend, to which I had no answer:

If the final round is going to be at Waterworks, where are spectators going to park, let alone the entire Open field?  We had 70 people at the Mighty Mo this weekend, and there wasn't a lot of space left to park.  Do you park on Main St at the west end of the park and walk in?

Found and Lost / Lost Roc at Rosedale
« on: May 11, 2008, 09:51:49 PM »
#9, the tree to the right of the fairway.  Smacked a Roc into it, and it kicked into the woods.  I heard it hit the ground, but I couldn't find it.  It's a pretty beaten up 174 dx in a dark pink/red color with the old X-Out stamp.  My contact info is on the back.  If found, I'd love to get it back.

Swope / Pin Movement
« on: April 10, 2008, 11:32:45 AM »
Would it be possible not to move pins between Saturday morning and Sunday?  We're splitting the finals for our KCCC team between the two days, and would like to have all participants play on the same course.

Thanks,
Chris

Found and Lost / Lost Sunglasses at Rosedale

I lost my glasses in the woods on #11 Down Under.  They look like this:

Now I don't expect them back (most people don't return Oakley's), but if someone would be kind enough to give them back, I'll gladly give you some plastic out of my collection.
