Water Works / Favor? Por Favor?
« on: May 18, 2012, 01:33:10 PM »
Could someone read the current distances of each of the holes at Waterworks off the tee sign for each hole and post them here?  I don't have time to get out there this weekend.

« on: March 27, 2012, 11:33:14 AM »
I threw my 2 year old beat in Star Discmania PD in the lake at the Kan-U-WyCo.  It's red in color, and has a custom stamped rainbow skull stamp.  I will gladly offer a reward to anyone who happens to find it!

Leagues will officially run from April 1th - September 30th.  League Directors may wish to run outside of those dates as long as they're during the Daylight Saving Time hours.  Leagues will start at 6, but to begin and end the year, league directors may move the time up.  Please check out the various course forums for more information.

Ace funds will start the 2012 year as follows:

Cliff Drive - 353
Legacy - 208
Prairie Center - 523
Rosedale - 520.50
SMP - 381
Swope - 205
WW - 393.50
WyCo - 489
Young - 220.50

League will cost $5 for every division this year.  An additional $1 can be paid to be put toward the Ace Fund.  A $1 will be given to club members.  $3 of each entry will go toward payout.

We'll have the following divisions this year.
Pro - 33% payout
Masters - 50% payout
Women - 50% payout
Advanced Am - 50% payout
Intermediate Am - 50% payout

The payout schedule can be found here.

We will also open up other divisions as needed.  You must have 3 men or 2 women to form a division.  A total of 4 players must be registered for the Ace Fund to be in play.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.  We look forward to a successful 2012 league season!

Legacy Park - Lee's Summit / League Director Needed!
« on: March 16, 2012, 09:25:15 AM »
Jay won't be able to commit to being the league director this year, so the club is looking for someone to run league.  Experience is not necessary (it's not hard), but being there on a regular basis is.  Please let me know if you're interested!

Rosedale / #14 Basket
« on: February 29, 2012, 06:35:04 PM »
#14's basket got whacked by a fallen tree from last night's storm.  Part of the top has been bent down and the basket is a bit off level.

General Banter / 2012 Leagues
« on: February 21, 2012, 03:33:41 PM »
A couple of ideas that we're floating around with.

*  No more Pro 2.  Leagues will be $5 for each division.  If you'd like to have some sort of extra side bet, it will be the responsibility of the people playing, not the league director to handle that.
*  Flattening the Masters payout.  In the past, we've had those Masters good enough to play and cash in Open on the fence when deciding what division to play in based on where the most money was.  Flattening the Masters payout would push those people into Open, as the greatest chance for winning large sums of money will lie in Open.
*  Cliff back to Mondays (with the 1st of each month at Blue Valley).  Swope back to Tuesdays.

What do you think about these purposed changes?  Do you have any you'd like to see implemented?

Barter Town / Looking for KCWO Silver 25th Anniverservery dx Rocs
« on: October 25, 2011, 01:33:17 PM »
A friend of mine on a disc golf forum is looking for those silver 2006 KCWO Rocs.  New or pretty close to it.  If you have any you're interested in parting with, please let me know.

Found and Lost / Lost - 2 Discmania PDs
« on: October 15, 2011, 07:54:25 AM »
I lost my 2 most prized PDs this week :(.

Pink 175 Pro PD somewhere on the slope of #7 at Rosedale off to the right.

Red 175 Star PD somewhere off on the left part of the fairway (or rough) of #13 at Swope (shooting from the long pad, I think it's somewhere under the leaves).

My name and number are on both.  If someone finds them, beer will be traded for their return!

Rosedale / Rosedale League - 6.29.2011 (Marshall got an ace)
« on: June 30, 2011, 12:54:51 PM »
Rodney had to take his kid to the hospital last night, so I ran league.  Marshall aced #4 with a Roc.  I was on 3; I didn't hear any chains, but heard plenty of yelling!

I can't speak to the ace fund, but I know it's $20 richer before half of it goes to Marshall.

Tank - 47
Cd - 49
Marshall - 50
Mike M - 51
Timko - 53
Casey - 53
Joe H - 53
Pete - 54
Frank - 66

Jay R - 54
Mike T - 56
John J - 61

Kevin - 61
Greg - 62
Dylan - 63
Tony - 63
Jake R - 64
Ian S - 65

We have some left over Disc Golf Review stamps that feature some ultra cool artwork drawn by Zach Mallard (ZAMSon).  These are the Rocs I've been throwing recently.  If you want to pick some up, you can at Gotta Go Gotta Throw.

Swope / Swope League 6/13/2011 - Revenge of Swope Gold
« on: June 13, 2011, 12:45:05 PM »
Looking to get some revenge on Swope Gold from a Sunday round?  Perhaps you played Am at the Wide Open and would like to see how you measure up against the big boys?  Or maybe you're just a glutton for punishment.   Van told me we'll be playing the exact same layout we did for the Pros yesterday, so come out early, and bring some mental fortitude :).

Swope / Swope Work Day - May 28th, 9am
« on: May 20, 2011, 03:49:32 PM »
We would like to have a workday at Swope to get the course ready for the Wide Open.  Swope is a pretty kept up course because of it's lack of rough, but there are a couple areas where we need to clean up.

    * Trim around the rocks on the front and back OBs.  paint lines.
    * Trim #12 to clean up the hole and make it less of a poke and hope.
    * Trim #13's green to pretty it up
    * Trim #16's temp fairway to open up the drive
    * Line and paint the OBs
    * Install temp pins on #2 and the new #7.  Fix the pin on Temp1.

Here are the tools we'll need

    * shovels, concrete, things to put #7 pin in the ground
    * #2's long pin was on a concrete base, somehow anchored into the ground using screws.  We need to see what our options are there.  If we have none, we can chain a basket to the tree next to it for the week.
    * Weed whackers to clean up the OB rocks lines
    * Loppers to clean up #13's green
    * Pole saw to clean up the needed limbs on #12 and #16

If you have any tools you can provide, or just want to come out and work, we'd love to see you!  Let me know what information I can provide.
