Thats the course I learned to play on. Not a dandelion anywhere and rollers roll forever. Try maytag park in newton also. Pella has a decent lil 18 at Central College.

While hoofing through the tallgrass at rosedale last week I had an epiphany.
Beer league size card. All players bring a pushmower and a tank of gas.
Each player mows his(or her) way through 18 holes of golf. 3 rounds of golf should be plenty to take a good chunk off most fairways. (and give a good idea
of where most people throw) Instead of earbuds pumping music, we would need earplugs to prevent hearing loss.

I have thrown in a hand in a few tourneys over the past few years. Mostly to get an understanding of how to run one. It has always been my plan to one day move back home and set up a course at the VA hospital in my home town. (Had a nine hole ballgolf course that was closed due to budget cuts). As things stand right now, I work every weekend.

I hope to change that some day. If I can get things changed, I will step up and try being asst. TD for an event or two before I will be ready to try my hand at running a full fledged tourney. Baby steps right? I have been clued in a little on what takes place weeks before an event. I need more experience before I step up and grab the reins myself. Maybe next summer I can.

I thought my grandfather fought to end this kind of Fascism.
Seems to me there could be better ways to "protect and serve" John Q. Public than to hide in bushes at a public park and conduct serveillance on people camping. Put my tax money being used for this towards cleaning up the
disaster in the gulf.
