Ok. I have enough now that I don't really need to spend real money on them. Was/am hoping to find some buyers/traders for my unused discs. And I have a Fury, but it is Opto and, though I haven't decided yet, it is riding in my bag for now trying to prove its worth.

Hah. Wonderful.

And I was throwing Wraiths up until a couple months ago. It is hard to find the good ones now, though. You know, the stable-ish ones that don't turn into rollers right out of the box?

I'm thinking either DU or Swope at around 2ish.

Respond here if you want to and have a preference. If no one responds I'm going to default to DU since it is closer to my place of work.

You can also call, text, or email me if you have my contact information.

What is the fundraiser for? The course? An outside group? The club?

No mine is plain old boring Black. If you've got a two tone lined up or can find a camo definitely go for that one.

Yeah, there's that too. Jake did great with the second round matchups but I think we still had enough talent to break through. Really my biggest error I think was in my own matchup. I was hesitant to put myself in one of the top 3 or 4 spots even though I should have been there. I think the matchup with Crowe would be a fun one this year, but last year and especially in that round it just wasn't an even fight. (He's gone up 10 points since October and it'll be even more than that when a couple low rounds drop at the year point).

All that being said I think I got some of the matchups I really wanted too. I loved Tank against Jordan since Rosedale is a putters course. I loved the top of the bracket Arturo against Jake game. I got the women the way I wanted them.

Probably the biggest thing I think I did wrong last year, too, was not knowing the East Side well enough. I basically only knew the guys who regularly played Open in tournaments. I didn't know how strong Eric Eastwood and Matt Perry (especially) were. I think that will be remedied this year. I'm also happy I won't have to make the picks. Though in another situation I would like my odds in picking something like this I don't think I can be objective enough about my own play and would rather not have to do it. Tracy will be a huge upgrade at captain this year.

It'll be a fun one.

This is my 1000th post.

I'm excited to join this elite level of KCFDC forum member and even more excited to be a part of this community.

I also have an announcement:

Many of you already know this and I'm sure many more of you don't really even care that much but this, in all likelihood, will be my final season of KCFDC play. Emily has accepted a job in Massachusetts that is starting in August and barring the unlikely (and unfortunate) we will be moving out there in July sometime. She is in the home stretch of her PhD and assuming everything goes well the job is there waiting for us.

I just wanted to say thank you for this group of people. I feel that I've learned so much from you in the game and as a steward of the game. I'm excited for the opportunity to go elsewhere and to test what I've learned on new and exciting courses and against the venerable NEFA but I will certainly miss what the KCFDC has been.

So, I guess all I wanted to say is, thanks, and peace unto you all.

Now who's to say that slim wouldn't have pulled some points too.  Automatically counting him as zero isn't nice at all!!

(insert random trash here!!)

Sorry!  I just wanted to feel like I was the part of the conversation!  See everyone Thursday!!

A well-reasoned response.

I would certainly concur with that line of reasoning. The reason I discounted Slim wasn't because of his play it was two-fold: 1. I, personally, never found out why he wasn't there. It was very much easier for me to excuse the absence of Arturo who would have been there if not for work. 2. Arturo is a more highly rated player than Slim. Yes, Slim tears up many a course but on the whole Arturo tears them up more.

But I do concede, if Slim were there and Arturo were not it could/would have been even more lopsided a loss for our side.

Man this thread hurts to read. Worst trash talk ever by both sides.

My head hurts trying to get people from Missouri to understand logic.

And I hope that none of my comments have been mistaken as trash talk (except maybe the one right above this line). I find trash talk to be boring. I'll argue but only from logic and reason. And I'll be excited when this thing is behind us and the trophy is back on this side of the state line.
