Scheduling information will be posted online as well as emailed directly to all pre-registrants quite soon, but first wanted to address the less than robust B-Tier registration.
So yes, I'm kind of surprised that the B-Tier Wide Open for intermediate, recreational, and novice players has not, so far, drawn more players. We hope this will change in the next 48 hours. The shirt order has to be placed by noon on Friday, which means if you think you want to play, let me know your division and shirt size BEFORE NOON ON FRIDAY!
Here are some reasons why lesser-rated players should be part of this historical event:
The cost is only $55 (add $10 more if not PDGA) and here's what you get:
1. Play three of the courses that the pros will be playing: Swope Gold, Water Works, and Blue Valley.
2. A very cool SuperColor ESP Buzzz
3. Pigment Dyed Performance Shirt
4. Dynamic Disc Dirt Bag
5. Saturday Night Soiree featuring a full Italian dinner. Check out frankiejscatering.com. Also a DJ, Triple X competition, and more will be happening
6. 30th Annual KCWO Commemorative Program - 32 page magazine tracks each of the previous 29 Wide Open
7. Vintage issue of Disc Golf World News--a large glossy, well-written magazine from years gone by.
8. Prizes based on finished, and some CTPS too.(but you’ll have to earn these!)
Besides what a player gets, there are even more opportunities.
1. Meet and greet Ken Climo at Disc Golf World on Friday night
2. Dynamic Disc Team Clinic on the DD KC Store on Friday night
3. That's right: TWO disc golf stores in one town to check out!
4. Triple X games - $20 includes your Passport Disc. Field is limited to participate in some wild and wacky Frisbee games. Fun and prizes.
5. Low cost camping at Swope Park - $10 a night
6. Final 9 at Swope featuring top 4 men and top 3 women
7. Sunday's free Concert in the Park after the Final 9
8. DD Doubles on Friday at Rosedale
9. Watching the top pros at Blue Valley and/or Wilbur Young on Friday
10. Becoming part of a 30-year tradition.
