Prairie Center / 02-06-06 GLOW League
« on: February 07, 2006, 10:27:43 am »
9 folks that don't let a little chilly weather or darkness stop them from playing some DG were out for a round last night. It was frosty, but the wind was non-existent. In fact, I can not remember a calmer round at Prairie Center.
We even had some added excitement when some idiot decided to go four wheelin out in the middle of the well manicured soccer fields. Deano called the police while the fool was doing it, and I attempted to get his tag number as he sped out of the park, but he got away. At least he didn't run over any baskets.

Tom Butler and Heberto Villareal shooting 42 for $30
Dan Coffman and Andy Lewis shooting 50 for $15 (won playoff)
Arturro Villareal and John Raich shooting 50
Bob Hayett and Dan Forster shooting 53
Dean Uhlman and Cali Deano shooting 58

We have 7 more Monday night GLOW rounds left. I have lights for sale ($2) each, and our ACE fund is up to $126, so come on out and have some fun.

Prairie Center / Groundhog Day
« on: January 31, 2006, 10:41:30 am »
The Olathe crew, or at least I, am heading out this evening for a round of dg.... maybe skins or best score or both. Come on out and join in the fun. Should be around 55 and South winds at 5 mph. I are planning on starting around 5:15-5:45.

And, since it's Ground Hog Day, I thought I would post a few words of reflection....

"When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of Punxsutawney, or WW GLOW, Olathe GLOW, either of our Saturday Leagues, or the masses at the Ice bowl, and basking in the of warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter."

8 out for a round in near record high warm weather. Mild breezes to go along with temps around 40-50 should have allowed some good scores, but some long pin placements and a really dark night made birdies tough to come by. ACE fund is up to $74, so come on out and hit it next Monday at 6:00.

Andy Lewis and Bryan Guthrie shooting 50 for $25
Brant Pfister and Arturo V. shooting 51 for $15
Dean Uhlman and Brad Myers shooting 52 for nada

Even though it was quite cold, the lack of any wind made it feel not too bad last night. Deano and I had shoveled off and swept all the pads and staging areas Sunday, so the round was really fun for the 6 die-hards that showed up. The ACE fund is at $66 so come out and hit it next week! It's a holiday for most folks, so come on out. Random draw dubs at 6:00.

Tom Butler and Dan Coffman shooting 50 for $30
Dean Uhlman and Andy Lewis shooting 50
Bryan Guthrie and Bob Hayett shooting 53

7 out for a GLOW round on the Prarie. The snow was mostly gone and the temp was very nice, at least at the start of the round. The temp fell quickly as the evening deepened. There was no wind or breeze which helped several of us make some long putts. The moon was so bright we found ourselves playin to the shade a lot, and I think I have a Moonburn. The ACE fund s up to $61, so come out next Monday and hit it.

Tom Butler and Bryan Guthrie shooting 49 for $35
Dean Uhlman and Andy Lewis shooting 51
Dan Coffman and Brad Myers shooting 53
Bob Hayett and Cali Bob shooting 57?

6 out for a chilly walk on the Prarie. Mother Nature worked us a bit as it was around 28 and a mild breeze when we started, but by the 4th hole the wind had picked up dramatically. Then, by the 18th hole snow had started. Still, a good time was had by all. The additional mowing and cleanup done Saturday made playing the new 15 and 16 more enjoyable. The ACE fund stands now at $54, so come on out and hit it next Monday at 6:00!

Tom Butler and Dean Uhlman shooting 52 for $30
Andy Lewis and Dan Forster shhoting 54

The wind was out of the southwest at 20-30 and the temperature hovered around 28. Our ACE fund is slowly growing, $48, so come on out and try to hit it in a round of GLOW!
