Forecast for tonight is around 60 at tee time with light winds and a near full moon (waning gibbous). Dry ground, beautiful bird land, big moon, all are good reasons to GLOW it up. Sign up by 5:45

Tournaments / PDGA C tier in Joplin Saturday
« on: October 21, 2016, 06:17:08 AM »
A C tier is happening down in Joplin tomorrow.
Half of the $ goes to a charity that benefits veterans.
Lunch on site is included and the weather looks great. If you haven't been to McLelland park before it is a fun loop and for a good cause. A DD RV will be on site for AM payout. They mentioned rent a caddy too.

I'm not a vet ( I was however in Max Floyd's KY102 Rock and Roll Army that defeated disco), but may go check it out.

I remember Gunn Park having decent drainage and no extreme slopes or anything.

Anybody know how the course plays after a heavy rain?

I don't think it will be too bad. There will be wet spots and mud, but it will not suck. Doc is right...the ancient trees will be happy.

This Saturday is the Battle at Gunn Park, a PDGA C tier down 69 highway 85 minutes in Ft. Scott Kansas. It's an old park with ancient trees, some elevation, and a cool vibe. Easy drive, cool park, good weather forecast...

Check in at Prairie Center between 8:00 and 8:45.

A short players meeting will happen close to 9:00.

Turn in your scorecard to Josh at Lakeside after your round before you leave the course. Turn in your scorecard to Pete at P.C. after your round before you leave the course. Pools and where you play first will be confirmed at check in. The current plan is adv grands, intermediates, and recs will play Lakeside first and P.C. in the afternoon. All other divs will be the opposite.

Tourney central is Prarie Center for payouts.

I don't wanna jinx it , and we could always have remnants of a hurricane roll in, but Saturdays forecast today says partly cloudy, a high of 81, and SSE winds at 5 to 10. Sounds like dg heaven to me.

There should not be soccer going on Saturday at pc, so 11 should be ok.

I would suggest you send out cards as early as possible tonight at Bird, it's set pretty long 7507', par 58 and will take an average 4 some 2 hrs 45 mins to play.
