I suppose it was the threat of rain that kept the crowd away last night, but 6 showed up and enjoyed the best weather of this young season so far. Well, that is until about hole 12 when a light rain began to fall. It was warm and calm however and it didn't suck.

Tom Butler & Dick Parker  49 for $15
Dave Hemmeline & Matt Hays  49 for $15
Andy Lewis & Tavish Sanders  57

The ACE fund is at $271. Come out next week and go for it. If it looks like rain though, don't come out without your rubbers.

That sucks. When was it unlocked? During the round? I was in the first group in and didn't see anybody around the lot at all.

To quote ABBA: What's the name of the game? And, who is the dancing queen?
It sounds like there may be a gaggle of folks. Perhaps some team golf is in order?
The wonder wagon filled with eager Olatheans should arrive between 5:30 to 6:00. This should be fun! I can hear ABBA now...... there was something in the air that night, the stars were bright,......... Should be a good night for the flask Kev, with refills !

Kevin, if you know how to contact the rangers, a heads up to them that we will be stumbiln/bumblin, I mean playing a round out there in the dark my alleviate any close encounters of the oink kind.

The first GLOW league of the season was played last night. The weather was dead calm and a warm 65....until about our second hole when the wind suddenly went from non-existent to a cold 25-30 mph wind out of the northwest. By the end of the round the temp was down to 49. No ACES reported but Deano went thru the chains on 3 and I (Tom) hit the top of the chain assembly on 13. Dick (Cletus) Parker won the best costume prize. We had some good chow and some good DG. Come out next week for some GLOW and a chance at the ACE. The ACE fund is up to $214, and remember, it started at $0 and when hit it will start at $0 again.

18 players:

Fred Fortsone & Ben Taylor  50 for $45
Bryan Guthrie and Heberto Villareal  51 for $30
Tom Butler & Dick Parker  53 for $7.50
Chris Hall & Dean Uhlman  53 for $7.50
Drew Neitzel & Greg Neu  55
Andy Lewis & Mark Hogins  56
Dan Coffman and Jud Gruber  58
Steve "Doc" Norby & Bob Hayett  60
Dan Forster & Mark Morales  60

Olathe GLOW starts up on Monday, October 30. We will draw for partners at 6:00. I will have a few lights for sale.($2 each)
It's the night before Halloween, so bring a Jack-o-lantern out and set it on top of a basket before the round. Wear a costume if you want. Nothing to scary though, as Andy and Deano are a little sensitive to scary stuff.
Come a little early (around 5:40) and have a burger or braut (or both), courtesy of the Olathe posse. Bring your favorite beverage and a side if you'd like.
The format is the same as last year... random draw dubs, $5 each and if you want in the ace fund add $1. Payout of the $5 is 100% and payout for an ace is also 100%. The ace fund from last year stands (unhit) at $196.
I do ask all players to be considerate of the neighbors near the park and not be overly loud while playing the front 9.
We hope to see ya there.

Tournaments / Club Championship Ace Funds
« on: October 16, 2006, 01:11:47 PM »
Wouldn't it be more exciting and fun to be playing for Wyco's, or Olathe's ace fund? If somebody hits one that has never played league there before, then good for them. They did have to join the KCFDC to play in the CC though.

Like I said earlier, I don't realy care either way. I'm not a politician or on the board. I'm just glad I can go play on some of the best courses and with some of the best folks anywhere.

Tournaments / Club Championship Ace Funds

Why do you think it would be a train wreck Q? The ace funds are built up mostly by club members. The CC is just for braggin rights. A hefty ace fund would make for a more exciting weekend. Just having the tourney entrants put in to an ace fund will be a small ace fund to go for. Also, what happens to the ace fund if not hit? Does it go to the club? Maybe I am just a radical, but I still think the courses' ace funds should be up for grabs at the CC, and furthermore, I think league ace funds should pay out 100% like the Olathe GLOW ace fund will when hit.
