Tournaments / Re: City of Fountains-PDGA C-Tier 9/21/08

When will the courses be set in tourney positions? Some out of towners might come in this weekend to practice the courses, and it's sometimes nice to have the tourney placements set the weekend before.

If you've often considered going to Wyco for a Friday night league, but thought, "it's too far", or "I won't get home until late", or "the course is toooo long", or any of a number of other lame azz excuses, tonight might be the time to head to Wyco.

There will be a smorgasboard of beer, as well as some surprises.

Can't make it by the 5:20 sign up? Come out anyway, hang out, drink ACE beer, enjoy the eve.

For early arrivers, the ACE beer should be on site by 4:40.

Are there none that will stand against the mighty Throlatheans?

WYCO / 08-29-08 League

A beautiful, almost Fall like evening was enjoyed by the 19 golfers in attendance last night at Bonner Park. It took six years for the first ACE to be hit at Wyco, but, after I struck hole #5 last night there has now been 2 league aces in the last 3 weeks on the same hole. ACE beer and sodas (and other surprises) for all next week. Remember to be early. The 5:37 tee off last night allowed us to finish just as the sun sank below the horizon.

Dave Hemmeline  50 for $13
Arturro Villareal  54  for $7 (left before payout was complete, I'll pay you next week)
Nick Altieri  57
Andy Lewis  60
Deano Uhlman  61
Fred Netherton  62
Brett Long  63
Jesse Wallace  69

Tom Butler  54 for $8.50
Brian Gammon  54 for $8.50
Terry Adams  60 for $1.50 (I'll pay you next week)
Mark Morales  60 for $1.50 (same as Terry)
Jeff Hoglund  64
Mark Hogins  67
Kevin Montgomery  72
Becky Stebbins  88

Mike Coleman  70 for $6 KC KASH (Mike is the ACE whisperer, he has attended WYCO league twice in 6 years and both times he attended and ACE was struck !)
Leigh Ann Hoglund  73 for $3 KC KASH (good job!)
Marc Hoglund  74

Hope everyone had a fun time. I know I did !  ;D  Remember to be early next week, and come thirsty.

respectfully submitted,

I had my first tourney ACE at the Olathe Open earlier this month, and my first league ACE last night at Wyco.
It was on hole #5. I threw an orange star tee rex (169g) with the monkey island stamp from this springs tourney. Witnesses were Terry Adams, Brian Gammon, Mark Morales, Cindy, and Mr. Gus. It was a sweeping, fairly flat hyzer that crashed dead center in the chains. It was nearly identical to a shot I had 2 years ago in league with Doc and Kmont on my card, that unfortunately bounced out. Last night it stuck!

Woohoo! ACE beer and some other surprises are in store for all in attendance next Friday.

Yeah, I should have stated that I have not played Prairie Center or Shawnee Mission. Any course that causes me to have to cross the line into that God-awful state of Kansas automatically gets points deducted, hence Rosedale's place on my list. ;D

This is from Forbes this year:

In Depth: America's Best Places To Raise A Family
It's qualities like these that landed Hamilton County atop Forbes' list. Ozaukee County, Wis., and Johnson County, Kan. came in second and third. All earn high marks for their low cost of living, reasonably priced homes and short commute times. They also offer terrific schools, one of the most important characteristics to consider when choosing a place to raise a family.

Of course, Missouri is a great place too if you like messed up school districts, crappy roads, and meth labs.

Now, my list:
1. Which ever park I happen to be in at the time. Every one is more fun than my office.

not wanting to give in......but it is easier to get to off the highway.....but Cliff Drive is still closer to downtown.......KCMO...

Cliff Drive to 1200 main is 2.24
Rosedale to 1200 main is 4.39

Cliff Drive to 7th and Minnesota (Downtown KCK) is 4.57
Rosedale to 7th and Minnesoat (see above) is 4.88

So now that I did some research it is closer to both KC and KCMO downtown, so I stand by my stance!

Cliff is definitely closer to downtown than Rosedale, however, the term "centralized" could also have meant the geographical center of the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area disc golf playing population base.

12 out for some fun before the Lions Den is opened!
In a SHOCKING happening, Arturo beat everyone....I know you are all in awe.....
Jack-58 (With a SUHWEET putt to beat Danger in a playoff from the road, he missed, I didn't!!!)
Hart Donation-59
Morales-63 (Lateness will no longer be allowed, daylight is to scarce....)
Bill N-66
Lexi-83 (I mis added your mis added....)

Saturday is on, and then back to league on Monday.  See what happens as you too can be a part of the most centralized disc golf league in Kansas City!!!

I would argue that Rosedale is the most centralized league.

I'm still awaiting the final word, but indications are we will not be moving any holes into the land to the west in the near future, nor in time for worlds.

The P & R is still contemplating their options on the potential safety issues with the new walk trail on holes 14 and 15. I'll let eveyone know as soon as they tell me.

I forgot to post my ACE.

I ACED hole #12 at the Olathe Open on August 2, 2008. I threw a green 174g ESP Buzz, with anhyzer into the short placement. Cecil C. saw it the entire way. First ACE in 3 years or so for me. It made for my 4th ACE ever, and my first tourney ACE.

Good times!

I would think the parks dept has insurance for stolen park equipment.

Pete Cashen ACED hole #4 at Rosey last night in league. He threw a Roc, I believe. It flew clean down the fairway with hyzer and crashed right into the sweet spot of the chains. Witnesses were myself, J.J., and Gary. Good times!

Maybe we should have a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of basket theives.
