I am. Can't wait, it will be my first time seeing them live and I've heard nothing but good things.

Once it's over, my band Mouth is playing the after party 2 blocks over at Cross Town Station! Going to be an epic night.

Here's the flyer:

I like to do the ear bud thing while playing solo rounds.. it's quite nice. I usually turn on something from the electronic/world side of the jam scene. I always keep a healthy selection of live shows on my ipod from bands like EOTO, Papadosio, Telepath, Cornmeal, ect..

If anyone digs jammed out funk music, check my band out at - we always have free downloads up.

a ton of weirdos all weirded out

great description-dead on... I have determined that the Mo-Kan is a must to attend after seeing that Somasphere was headlining.  Those guys put on a sick dance party at waka in the outpost tent-only regret was it was an afternoon show and there were no lights.....

Right on, they are cool kids. Believe it or not, Nebraska has a hopping music scene. Mo-Kan will be fun, my band will be playing the 'main' stage thursday night at 11pm.

Here are two other fests that we're playing that should be a blast:

River Jam in Ft. Smith Arkansas!/notes/river-jam-fest-2010/new-artist-additions-for-river-jam-pre-sale-tix-avail/123576017679688
- I think we're getting a prime late night set here, at least we were promised one...

Tall Tree Lake in Illinois!/event.php?eid=115980981772048&ref=ts
- Late night, again

So, I'll see ya at Mokan.. still trying to figure out what's up with disc golf out there. I would love to throw a sunrise round!

Wakarusa update: 4 of 9 holes were semi-un-playable due to campsites and sleeping hippies.  Seth and I decided to still throw the 2 holes where there were no tents, but only sleeping dreadies...almost put a screaming low nuke in a hippie's back, but he was so high on LSD he would have never known what it was anyways.  One disc was thrown in a pond.  multiple good shots were thrown.    No night golf was played, as there was too much partying to be done.  If you love music, or you love to party, or you love both, then for the love of god come to Wakarusa next year, because it is the most awesome party one might ever encounter!!!!!

Waka is magical. There are tons of smaller regional festies around through-out the year too. If you're in it for the party, they are pretty damn fun. Nothing like camping with a ton of weirdos all weirded out with live music to keep you going until the sun rises. ~ cheers

Status update: The promoters are looking at 2 camp-grounds. They said 'the one by the lake has an 18-hole disc golf course.'

If that's the case, might be able to organize DG as an event? Maybe some basic group instructions before throwing a round? I know I'll be playing and there will be a ton of people that wish they had discs.

General Banter / Disc golf & the MoKan music festival?

Hey guys, some of you know me as a drummer / musician. Anyway, my band is playing at a cool local festival called the MoKan Music fest this July.  The festival is from July 8th - 10th in Pleasant Hill, Mo.  (

I was wondering if the KCFDC & a few members would have any interest in setting up a temp 9 hole course on the festy-grounds. I have a message into the coordinators, seeing if there is enough room.  I'm sure I could hook up a few backstage passes for people who would be willing to be responsible for such a thing. That would include the band percs, like free beer for the entire weekend. My only concern would be having a bunch of loose baskets out there... even though the festival will have a nice security barrier.

I bet you wrangle some new players as well as get a few seasoned players interested in the club. If we jump on this now, we can advertise the fact that there will be golf at the fest. That way kids show up with their clubs.

I would be willing to volunteer for a few hours on friday / saturday to take new players for a round, or run a KCFDC table or something.

I'm usually way too busy with work / music to get out to any work days, but I am a card carrying, dues paying member that is trying to help spread the good word. I'll know more about the possibilities of this once I hear back from the organizers, but I have a feeling they'll jump all over this.

Anyone interested in helping out and chilling out with good local music?

Cool, I will probably pick up a pair of Keens after browsing the site.

My company had a meeting the other week where our owner used, another online shoe sales site, as an example of a customer service driven culture. Kudos to the companies who take the extra step to help their clients.

but I heard that a beatle infestation destroyed quite a few of the courses up there.

the pine beetles have definitely devastated the course in frisco over the last few years.  I played it twice in recent years and the difference was dramatic.  My buddy has a place in keystone and he reports it gets much worse every year (i was out there in 05 and 07, and he says it is WAY worse now as far as tree loss).  SOOOOOOOOO, play it NOW before global warming and those damn beetles ruin the course forever!!!

Word. I have a musician's bucket list.. You know, musicians I have to see perform live before they kick the bucket. It's sad that you're thinking of a disc golf course in the same way. But it's also valid. Now I just have to make sure my mates don't give me too much sh1t for packing my plastic in the van next to our gear. haha

Thanks guys. Yeah Sirbronco, 4/20 is the very last day of Breck's ski season and the end of their Spring Massive festival.. Going to be a fun gig. :)

I really want to play Frisco now, I spent a lot of time at a house near Dillon Lake growing up, we would drive over to Frisco to go shopping. So thank you for that suggestion.

Thanks and keep em coming!

Is there anyone out there familiar with CO based DG and how playable the courses are depending on the weather? My band is playing 4/19 in Fort Collins and 4/20 in Breckenridge and I'll be chillin in between shows. Anyone know of any courses in Denver that would be possible to play in snow? I'm not exactly sure what the weather will be like but I don't want to miss an opportunity to throw plastic at a high altitude. Cheers

I love canned beers. Blocks all sunlight from ruining the beer.

Avery just started canning their beers.

My band Mouth and I are throwing ourselves a 1st birthday party on Jan 29th at the Jazzhaus in Lawrence. There will be a variety of special guests and producers involved to help make this our best show ever. A few disc golfers have been out to a few of our shows and have all loved them.

You'll find all the details here:

Here is the flyer:

And if you want to download one of our albums for free to check us out:

Cheers, I'll see you at the Ice Bowl, still hung-over.
