I was cleaning out my car and found a set of keys that someone handed to me during the Club Championships. I personally don't think it was anyone from the event but if anyone knows of someone who lost their keys out there, I may have them.

They have a lot of keychain scan cards on it and also a silver pill case. With what looks like "ibuprofen". Anyone, if this is yours let me know and I'll figure out how to get it back to you.

Barter Town / ISO older (2009-2011) Star Bosses - 167g-172g New or Used
« on: November 15, 2015, 01:01:31 pm »
I'm on a search to replace my HS drivers. I'm looking for older star bosses, preferably 167g-172g from 2009-2011. Pre #'s work and tourney stamped ones from those years work as well. Let me know if you have any and if you want cash or trade.

Bag Tags / 2016 Bag Tag Assignments
« on: November 12, 2015, 08:54:03 am »
Thank you to everyone who bought in to the 2016 Bag Tags. Everyone who paid for a tag at the Club Championships is listed on the link below. If there are any errors to the list that you may notice, please let me know immediately so I can look into it and get it fixed. As of Saturday the list will be final. Meaning that if the mistake makes it past that point you will just be in line for the next available tag.

2015 Kansas City Flying Disc Club Championships - November 7-8, 2015

This event is FREE for all current KCFDC members. If you are not current, you can always sign up at either DDKC, DGW, or the day of the event. Please bring Cash or Check (made out to "KCFDC"). Also having the current form printed off and filled out helps.

Are you the best Disc Golfer in Kansas City? This event will somewhat answer that question. All you have to do is be a member and bring your game. Due to how last year seemed to run so smoothly, we will try again to do what we did with the separate pools. The only way to successfully pull this off is to play a course with 2 courses. Well, since Rosedale is the only true 2 course park in the KC area, we have decided to take Swope Park and convert it into 2 courses using the land reserved for Swope Gold and also some safari holes.

Then on Sunday we will play at WYCO and Shawnee Mission. This is where it gets tricky. You will need to check here,, or Facebook to find out where you will need to go to play in the morning. Then we will switch courses in the afternoon. If you are unsure or miss all of our attempts to communicate with you, please get to WYCO early in the morning so you can find out where you are supposed to be. You will have enough time to get to SMP if you are there. I'm staggering the starts just for that purpose. I will do my best to make sure you know.

Remember folks, you DO NOT need to play every round. You can come out for 1 round, 2 rounds, 3 rounds or all 4. But if you intend to only play 1 or 2 rounds here an there, please let me or whoever is running your course know. It will make everything go so much easier.

Check in for Saturday will be 8:00-9 AM. If you are playing an afternoon round only, please be at the course early to get checked in.  Check in for Sunday will be NO LATER than 15 mins before tee time. I will try to post afternoon start times here and on the KCFDC Facebook page.

Saturday 11-7:
Round 1 - Swope Park - 9:30 am
Round 2 - Swope Park - TBA

Sunday 11/8:
Round 3 - A-POOL Shawnee Mission Park @ 9:30 AM
Round 3 - B-POOL Wyandotte County Park @ 9:00 AM
Round 4 - A-POOL Wyandotte County Park @ TBD
Round 4 - B-POOL Shawnee Mission Park @ TBD

We will also be taking payment for your 2016 Bag Tag. You must PREPAY for the bag tag to be included in the initial distribution of tags. Winning the event will NOT get you an exemption. You must pay to play. They will be distributed at the KCFDC Elections.

There are not a lot of people signed up for this but from what I hear about the course there should be. So get signed up. It's a mere hop skip and a jump away.

For those of you who do not get on the book of faces, I thought I would share with you the fact that the LDO will not be happening this year. We hope to bring it back next year with renewed enthusiasm and a lot of fun stuff.

Thank you everyone for your many of years of attendance.

Looking to part with my L-Series Camo Grip bag. If anyone is interested here locally I would rather sell it that way but if not I'll go to the inter-webz.

FYI, I don't expect to sell it for cheap as it is sought after by many. Only 110 made, to my knowledge. Please PM me if interested.

Namely, Tournaments.

Do you think it is appropriate or even fair for a Tournament Director to only use Facebook in order to let player know that they are going to lose their spot because they haven't passed their test yet?

I think if you are going to run an event you should call or email participants directly if you are going to take their spot away and not assume they are addicted to facebook like you are. Just an opinion.

Sorry, I'm riled up about this right now and had to ask.

Tournaments / 33rd Annual Kansas City Wide Open - June 19-21, 2015
« on: March 05, 2015, 11:05:12 am »
The KCWO committee met last night for the first time to iron out all the details for the 33rd installment of this wonderful Kansas City  disc golf tradition known as the Kansas City Wide Open.

So please, mark your calendars for June 19-21 and help us show the disc golf community around the world that we are the best place on earth for world class disc golf tournaments. Even if you can not play or volunteer, make sure you attend Sunday afternoon, June 21, to show support for the disc golfers by being apart of what we believe is the largest and most amazing gallery in disc golf. We are excited to once again provide Kansas City an opportunity to witness the best disc golf in the world.

The KCWO is an A-Tier event with the PDGA and also we are once again a USDGC Qualifying event. This year is not going to be any less grand than years past. We are planning just as big of an event so we can continue that tradition going into next year when the National Tour returns to KC.

The course to be used this year will be Water Works, Rosedale, Swope Gold, and one lucky pool will get to play a fun modified layout of Blue Valley, designed to test your skill, not your legs... as much.

The A-Tier will include all pro and advance amateur divisions. All of these divisions will be playing 4 rounds Fri-Sun. We will continue the tradition of a final 9 featuring the top 4 men and top 3 women in a super group. The intermediate and below divisions will be playing in a subsequent B-Tier that will play 3 rounds between Sat-Sun.

Online registration is in the works as we speak and I will likely have that up and running by the end of the week. Hopefully everyone will make plans now to be apart of this wonderful event in one way or another. More details to follow.

Tournaments / KCWO 2015 POLL!
« on: January 19, 2015, 07:09:57 pm »
It's poll time. I would like some input on a decision that I must make with the Intermediate and below players. To make my master plan work I am only able to do a maximum of 3 rounds for the B-Tier/C-Tier players and not able to allow play on Sunday.

BTW, the reason we seperate the Int and below players from the A-Tier/NT over the years is to allow people to pay the $10 non-pdga fee to play. If you want to play in the A-Tier portion you will need to move up to Advanced or higher.

Anyway, please look over the poll and make your vote known. I will listen to discussion but before you ask, yes I am still considering the 3rd round to be on Sunday morning but would like not too. If this is your only option you may choose "Non of the Above." Please vote and help me mold the event. Thanks.

General Banter / Merry Christmas Kansas City Flying Disc Clubers
« on: December 25, 2014, 12:14:25 pm »
Like the title says, Merry Christmas to all my frisbee throwin' friends. Bah humbug too. :)

Ok, so I'm trying to figure out what to do with the 2015 KC Wide Open. Please submit... or resubmit your vote for what you think would be the best way to go. The poll is not going to dictate what I will eventually decide but it will help me understand the local favorite.

Yes I will use Water Works this year so... vote!

Water Works / WW Glow League 12-4-14
« on: December 04, 2014, 12:22:04 pm »
How about instead of sitting in front of the pooter watching the internet melt, you should join us tonight for some glow dubs 6 pm tonight. Which looks like 40° and light to no wind. Should be a great night for glow.

Water Works / Turkey Glow
« on: November 27, 2014, 11:20:12 am »
It sounds like a group of people will be meeting tonight for Turkey Glow at Water Works. I will have lights and handwarmers on me for sale. I don't have a lot of handwarmers but I should have enough lights for those who need them.

There used to be a time when we would get 30+ for turkey glow. Let's make tonight another one of those nights.
