In keeping a positive experience for our disc golf community, we reserve the right to take down photos, comments and other material deemed "unproductive,” by the KCFDC. This includes, but is not limited to, vulgar language, disturbing photos, angry or aggressive behavior toward fellow members and posting anything in violation of any intellectual property right of another. If someone persists in offensive behavior or continually violates any of our house rules, we may block that person from further participation. So please, just remember to respect everyone here and on the course.
Please bring more than 1 canned item. This is for charity. Just raid your cabinet before you leave your house and donate what you can. This will all go to the ICE BOWL on Sunday in the name of the Friday Night Lights group.
AGAIN!!! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE IN THE POINTS RACE TO PLAY OR DONATE!!
Follow this link and then at the top go to images. There are many of old "frisbee" pictures they have archived over the years. Maybe a little nostalgia for you on this gloomy Thursday. Also it is a good way to look at the history of our sport.
Ok. So this is a very simple system that I'm sure is flawed but this is just an explanation of what I'm doing here with this "league"
At least once a month I will hold a friday night GLOW round. It will always be doubles and it will cost anywhere from 5-10 dollars. Tom is thankfully helping me run the dubs and making things run smoothly out there. On top of the $10 (which is a 100% payout) there is an OPTIONAL Points Series. This is $2 every time you want to play for points. If you have not already played in this series you may jump in on the next go around. There is already 20 dollars in the pot. You get points by how you score. Not particularly where you place. Here is the break down. again this is optional and this is a test run. I will not change it from here on out and anyone in to this point can just not get in next time if they don't like it.
There must be at least 6 players in order to play for points. $2 every time you play in order to accumulate points. You must pay the $2 dollars BEFORE you draw your partner Points are determined by the amount of players on that particular night
18 player = 9 teams = 3 places paid = 4 best scores get points.
Team A shots a 54 Team B and C shot a 55 Team D shot 56 Team E shot 57 Team F shot 58 and so on.
Team A will get 4 points. ( 4 scores awarded points so the best gets the most) Team B AND C get 3 points ( tied for 2nd best score. they are awarded the same) Team D gets 2 points. ( even tho they are 4th in the standings they have the 3rd best score) Team E gets 1 point (they again have the 4th best score)
If A wins and B C D E all tie they all get 3 points. if A and B tied they both would get 4 points.
Soo... Points are determined by the amount of people paid out +1. Though Scores are the determining factor in where you place for points.
I think this will be fun and I hope people continue to try it out. The next Friday Night Lights round will be the 27th of November. The day after Thanksgiving.
The standings for Now are:
Tom Butler 4 Dick Parker 3 Leo Departo 3 Wes Lubberts 3 Tracy Walker 3 Bill Neenan 2 Steve Harris 1 Brian Hilbers 0 Caleb Walker 0 DeanO 0
Starting next year if you plan on playing in a PDGA NT event they want to make sure you know the rules! I think this is a good idea. I hate playing with people who don't know the rules. You know that no one wants to call anyone out on rules. Unless of course you are at the top of the field.
