Tournaments / 33rd Annual Kansas City Wide Open - June 19-21, 2015
« on: March 05, 2015, 11:05:12 AM »
The KCWO committee met last night for the first time to iron out all the details for the 33rd installment of this wonderful Kansas City disc golf tradition known as the Kansas City Wide Open.
So please, mark your calendars for June 19-21 and help us show the disc golf community around the world that we are the best place on earth for world class disc golf tournaments. Even if you can not play or volunteer, make sure you attend Sunday afternoon, June 21, to show support for the disc golfers by being apart of what we believe is the largest and most amazing gallery in disc golf. We are excited to once again provide Kansas City an opportunity to witness the best disc golf in the world.
The KCWO is an A-Tier event with the PDGA and also we are once again a USDGC Qualifying event. This year is not going to be any less grand than years past. We are planning just as big of an event so we can continue that tradition going into next year when the National Tour returns to KC.
The course to be used this year will be Water Works, Rosedale, Swope Gold, and one lucky pool will get to play a fun modified layout of Blue Valley, designed to test your skill, not your legs... as much.
The A-Tier will include all pro and advance amateur divisions. All of these divisions will be playing 4 rounds Fri-Sun. We will continue the tradition of a final 9 featuring the top 4 men and top 3 women in a super group. The intermediate and below divisions will be playing in a subsequent B-Tier that will play 3 rounds between Sat-Sun.
Online registration is in the works as we speak and I will likely have that up and running by the end of the week. Hopefully everyone will make plans now to be apart of this wonderful event in one way or another. More details to follow.
