We are still looking for Cash Sponsors for the KC Wide Open this year. If you know a company or own a company that would like to contribute to the event please share this Sponsorship Form with them. Maybe they would like to sponsor you to play in the event. A minimal fee of $300 will get you into the event and also a Tee Sign at Swope Park all weekend. Help us, help the event. Thanks for sharing!

We are going to be updating the website kcwideopen.com this evening with new information like Schedule and Sponsors. We will also be announcing players pack items and cash added this week sometime. Also, in about a week, we are going to announce some other cool stuff happening that weekend that we are very excited about.

Lastly, we will be looking for volunteers soon. If you are not playing the event but would like to help spot or get water or whatever we need, please keep your eyes open for a way to sign up to be apart of our team. Thanks.

East side is already scared to say who is on their team so they have to post it privately. I'd be embarrassed too if I were on your team.

1, 2, 3, 4 etc. I just think of the printed tee signs, where all the colors look the same as they're faded on the printed map.

Having a well made sign without printed/laminated signs helps that issue out. Also, if they are made with printed/laminated signs they should be replaced once they are faded. We aren't talking about a large expenditure.

Rosedale will never be able to have nice things.

I think the screw idea is "helpful" but cheap looking. To say it is an improvement would be a stretch. I think having something nice in place, like what is out at Wilbur, would be more attractive.

I do have a new method for creating TeeSigns that would look good and keep cost down if the club would be willing to fork over the $. This would include a way to show where the basket is. You still have to have the volunteers who change the baskets also change the signs.

double sided plates. Red on Top, Blue on Bottom and so on. Then the plate could slide up into a recessed area so only one side shows. That would be 6 placements could be accounted for with only 3 plates.

People will rip them off or move them around. It's a headache. The Blue Springs course has the best option with the color plates that lock to the signs. IMHO

I also heard that today was April 1st and only fools fall for fake news. And of course, republicans...

So question:
I currently live in Missouri, but moving to Kansas prior to tournament. Born in Lawrence so I guess that makes me more of a Kansas guy historically. Technically tied for Kansas qualification at Rosedale and will do best to qualify for MO. But are there any rules/precedents on this?

The whole historical,  where your heart is, thing was shot down last year.   You  can only play for the team on the side which you live.

So what's the residency cut-off? It could be set as the date of the event.  But I think the fairest thing to do, for the captains, is to put the cut-off at 2 weeks prior to the event.  That is when tentative rosters are supposed to be set each year.  Where you reside, on that date, ultimately determines which side you're eligible for. This year that date is May 24th.

I think it logical that if you qualify for one side, then move to the other side of the line, your spot on the moved-from team doesn't travel with you.

Babbit, Joe would have to determine what he'll do about the tied for spot. But begs the question; do you have to live on the side when you qualify for that side?

If we are drafting players to Kansas, we will take Kelly Babbit and give you Dick Parker. I kid, I kid...

I'd rather not...

It's a par 3... just not a good one.

I believe that I should have a right to know what the players pack is.

Thank you for your volunteerism last year. Please provide me your phone # and I'll make sure you are the first person I call when it has been decided.

Currently, it is only online. I may work up a form in the coming days that I can accept some registrations at the two stores. The problem is that I don't want registration coming from too many places where it gets hard to control the different divisions. I'll let everyone know if and when that becomes an option.

I'm still trying to fill some positions. So whomever may be in charge of one pool right now may be somewhere else in a month. But currently Drew Nitzel is the D Pool director. I am the tournament director for everything though as well as the A Pool director. Scott Reek is also a Pool director. There are many people make this happen.
