Minutes for the Newsletter = Chappy likes Olathe (Kind of means you like Kansas....hmmmm...Kansas Jayhawks....hhmmm...you like football Chappy?)

Don't even joke about that crap.  I do like specific things in Kansas.  Heck, I was born in Kansas (Manhattan!)

However, I don't like any school whose mascot is a mythical bird named after a bunch of murderering thugs.

Chap

Murdering thugs existed on both sides of the line, and it was a long time ago. Of course the thugs from Kansas believed slavery was wrong and immoral, where the thugs from Missouri believed in the right to own slaves.

Rock Chalk.

Yet one side of the line has learned from history, while the other still celebrates their murdering thugs.

Mizzou-RAH

Actually what I think is funny is Kansas was known for their radical beliefs that people should all be free yet we are one of the most republican white bread judgemental christian right wing god fearing gay bashing hippie hating butt pluging mccain supporting fire breathing mythological creature enslaveries mild case of herpies that we call "cold sore" having topless bar only serving juice drinks to people I mean who does that? really?  best damn places to raise a child and possibly the best place to live if you need a job that pays under 10 dollars an hour.  ok I lied about the whole fire breathing thing.

I think we did pretty good with the situation we had last week.  It will be 50 degrees and windy today so expect a decent turnout.

How about running league on a different day than DU.  I don't understand why the only two club events we have during the winter is on the same day. That makes no sense.  And further more, I want to repeat what Cooper said.  We play Olathe ALL YEAR LONG on Monday nights.  Why would we want a second league out there when we have the DU.  I would rather ALL OF US play the same league and if you have to have a  league do it on a differen't day and if that doesn't work quit b%tchin' about the turnout and the pay.   We have a successful league on saturday's that has been around longer than most of us as members.

I agree Kevin that it is much to do about nothing.  But until someone comes out and says "This is what we are going to do" which has not been done this topic may continue.  I move that our EC makes a decision on this by the next meeting Jan 6 to end this discussion for good.

Money makes a difference yes but if you have more people there you will have better payouts.  Add an extra dollar.  I think alot of people go to DU because it cost more and they KNOW there is a bigger payout.  Our club which you donate that money to does go to let us converse on this site about how much money the club takes.

Well I first suggested this when the Leagues were kept track of better.  I know Chap has alot on his plate and hasn't been able to do much but I'm sure attendance is on record and could be figured up still .

Yes it is on the list of things todo.  More so now because it's in that placement. It will be taken care of.  Currently I want to focus on the things that we will need for Worlds.  Though the day we do 18 ALT we will be putting in Hole 19.  Which with hole 18 Alt gives us 20 holes.

Here is a little video I slapped together of pictures and videos taken from 2 of the mini tourneys.  The footage isn't the best quality but until I find a good HD camera at a good price you'll have to deal with my 2.7mp FinePix S5200.

Thanks again to EVERYONE who came out and for finding what card Gary and Bill T were on.   If this keeps up we may have to do sign up in the parking lot.

I think we should do sign up down by hole 18 where we finish.  That way, if people are starting on different holes, it's a lot closer to get to their tee.  Just a thought.   Also, no 6-somes or 8-somes.....down under rounds shouldn't take 3.5 hours....doubles round are slower than singles rounds...trust me.  This request is probably falling on deaf ears, but I thought I'd give it the old college try.

Chap

Well Chap luckily we read with our eyes not our ears and THIS is what I proposed.  The problem isn't so much a 6-em problem as a starting hole problem.  We could still play in a sixem fast but when you stack them it becomes a problem.  Then again if you have all foursomes starting on hole 1 you have FOREVER to get everyone off and so on.  The problem solver is meet up top or on 12/18 area, play in foursomes and use 4 different hole locations to get everyone off in a timely manner.

The problem is I don't run league.  When I mentioned it people complained and bickered.   I guess when it's your league you run it the way you want to .

No Shoenhopper!!!

Alot of the reason we were all playing for 218 and so on is because the good numbers all got lost at the Ice Bowl.  I think #11 was probably the equivelant of #5 and so on.  This is at least something to try and just see what happens to those top 20+ tags.  I bet for at least 6 months those tags are seen MORE often and played for by the people who really should be playing for them.  And like Jack did to St. Louis last year, if you win a good Tag and are never seen again. Well it will be hard to get you then but you at least WON it and didn't just score it the first day.
