Bag Tags / Re: 2009 Tags??
« on: December 04, 2008, 08:17:16 AM »
we should mix the divisions up in league once or twice a month that way a person in adv could take a tag from say a master or an open player. maybe the top 100 that played league or tournys more often should draw from 1 thru 100 and the rest draw from the left over ( but in the end your never going to stop the tag hiding ) however it go's its just a number!!!! I could not make it to league after the daylight savings because my JOB!!!! it got in the way ;D (I do like the club championship idea)

     LZ

There is no need to mix up divisions.  THe TAG challenge is a challenge.  A challenge to be the best. or better than the other guy.   If you want to play for a better tag try an off card challenge.  Or maybe stepping up and putting your 5 bucks towards a good arse kicking.  Or "lesson" if you will.  Our league structure doesn't need to change to accomidate tags.  Just your game.  Sorry you can't make it out to leagues after daylight savings.  One thing I've been thinking about for this also is what about for every 2 hours of Volunteer time (kept track by your CC) you get credited with 1 round of golf.  So that goes into your apperences at league.  Now you can come out and work on a course and get more chances to draw for a better tag along with showing up to league.

Now the one problem with this is the CC NOW has to keep track of stuff, and hand it over to John or whoever is in charge of these #'s.  Now just playing isn't the only option.  We can make alot of incentives for people to get a good start on tags.  And we can maybe get some work done at our courses.

Ok really fast I want to comment on this club championship distribution thing.  The way that works is the top people get the top tags.  If we just give the top tags to the top attendees it would distribute them to a broader base of people with diverse talent level.  Just my $.25 on the subject.

Yes emerson. My thoughts are worth WAY more than yours.

Why do people hate admitting I might just be right?   My brother use to make Leather keyrings which he burnt designs in to the leather.  Something like that might be nice. The only thing is I guess it wouldn't do well in water.  We can make laminated ones.  They would be cheap and if something happened to one we could just make another one on the computer.  All we need is a laminate machine.  Maybe a dumb idea.  Dunno

The people who attend more leagues not only put A tag on the line more often but they also bring in the most money to the club by attending on a regular basis.  Those people get nothing more than the guy who just signs up grabs a tag and never returns.  I think giving those people the opportunity to get good tags first is a great idea.  and really now,  the top 20 people who play leagues are the top 20 people who play for their tags most often.  Why not start the best numbers within the community that these tags are gear towards.  It make more sense than you think.. Those people who dont show up to leagues or tourneys more often will STILL have every opportunity to get a tag and play for a better one.  Just show up to leagues.  For the first month or so you'll know that there is a good tag to win from someone.

Again we aren't saying give it to the top 20 players but yet those who devote time and money to our leagues and our club.  If you can't come out all the time like some players than why would we want you to run off with tag #1 after the ice bowl.  I believe its not only the RIGHT thing to do its the only thing that makes sense.  If you can't understand that concept then the problem lies between your ears.   Remember if these people aren't coming out week after week, then our club has no money, and has no way of buying these tags for you to enjoy.

Great idea Andy.  I was thinking of putting red oaks in the middle of every fairway.  Or forestway as I like to refer to them as.

I played once with that Loomis guy.  Real nice guy at first.  You gotta watch out.  One day he's giving you a ride in his cab.  The next day he's playing footsy with your grandmother.   Dood.. Serious.  Thats just wrong.

Today we were fortune enough to have a couple groups of workers out today doing multiple jobs.  Thanks to everyone who came out today to supply help.  Those people are:

Jason
Timko
Steve H
Kiezer
John T
Eric K

Kiezer, John, and Eric worked on making the path down from 11's Teepad safer while Jason and myself finished hanging arrows.  Timko and Steve also helped myself and Jason with #8's bridge. Which hopefully we will finish by next weekend.  Good Work and there WILL be more work days leading up to some bad weather.  Next Saturday morning I will be out at the course is the weather permits finishing #8

We are going to finish putting up some arrows and then we are going to be building an arm rail for hole #8's bridge. Also I want to shore up 10-11 bridges and do some basic clean up on those holes too.  Please come out if you can.  The more people the better for moving a lot of brush and hammering some nails.

Meet at 12:30pm on hole 12

Today we put up orange arrows to help guide new players around the course.  Also we put up yellow arrows to show alternate tee pads.  Hope everyone likes it.
