Yesterday during league at P-Hill on hole #6 two guys came up behind us and SOME of us offered to let them play through.  The first guy crushed his disc over the road 70ft behind the pin.  The next guy throws his disc as hard as he can and crashed the basket for his FIRST ever ace.  MOST of us signed his disc and when asked how long he had been playing ?  They just started this summer.

So just remember to be kind and courtious to ALL golfers... Or they may just ace on you...

Just a few things I'm working on for the Mini Tourny.  In between rounds I have noted I may have prizes.  Well to get these prizes you will have to BOB FOR APPLES - CTP MINI on a BIG BASKET - ect.

dunno.. I liked the length myself.  The tpad moved not the basket just to clarify.  It still is a good hole just not as far.  I saw it and was like ooohh.. I thought the same thing when he said he aced.

I bought mine today... Forty-five minutes of tossing it around and I agree - it's super fast, but it's not all that stable. It likes to flip a bit. I don't know if I have a "big arm" or not, but for those of you that know me this information will make more sense. For those of you that don't, I usually throw over 375 consistently.
I bought a 175 and all discs are usually over-stable when new (at least, that's my experience), so I expected some over-stability but it's really acting more like a under-stable disc.  More like a weathered Wraith than a Teerex.

It sure is fun to watch fly though...

Loomis.

PS the "2009 worlds" discs are in, go in and buy one to help raise some bread for the big show.

Dude, you aced #1 at SMP.   You've got a good arm.

Yep, Worlds discs are here!  Come and get 'em!

Chap

Not to take anything away from his "big" arm but #1 at SMP has been shortened by about 50 ft.  Which does make it a very reachable hole.

It's a "me" day.

Come on, Dick.  All us Leos know all too well, that EVERYDAY is "me" day. :)

Quit directing the attention away from me sir.

We are conjuring up a glow round for Halloween instead of league play.

Tracy, correct me if you are wrong, but you will not be running league on that night??

Tom and I have been thinking about a 6:00 random doubles in some sort of 6-6-6 format.

Costumes (with actual effort) will be awarded a six pack of adult beverages before the round and the bset one will recieve an assortment of plastic from yours truely.

Most likely a non-club event in order to keep payout at a maximum with no ace fund.

Any thoughts?

I put alot of effort into my costume a couple years ago and didn't get anything but COLD!!!!  On my head where I shaved it.

Here is an updated list of Players for the Mini Golf Challenge Nov. 1, 2008

Just a reminder on the details:

$15.00
Beer/Food/Registration 12:00-1:45pm
3 rounds of Doubles (random draw EACH ROUND)

After every round YOU keep your Team Score.  So if A and B play the first round and shoot -2 Both players are -2 .  In the next round your new partner could be -5.  You are still -2.  After that round your TEAM score is added to your Personal score.

Final Round is GLOW.  I will provide ONE LIGHT for EVERY PLAYER.  I do have some MINI's for sale if you don't have one, or if you lose one.
Cash Payout to the TOP 1/3
I will have Prizes to give away in between each round and at the end.

Also there will be a small keg there for everyone but once it is gone you may need a backup plan for more booze.

1st round - BEST SHOT
2nd round - 6 - 6 - 6  Best shot - Alternate Shot - Best Score
3rd round - BEST SHOT - GLOW

Dick Parker
Kate Pearce
Dave Pearce
Otto Spiers
Eric Garberg
Tavish Carduff
Wes Lubberts
Fred Smith
TJ Ring
Ben Taylor
Susan Taylor
Bom Tutler (P)
Andy Lewis (P)
DEANO (P)
Marshall Wolfe (P)
Erin (Marshalls lady) (P)
Dave Hemmeline (P)

That means I only have 7 spots left.

Also I want to remind everyone that if you have a wife or husband that wants to come but not play that is fine.  Just let me know in advance so I can plan for more food.

Please let me know if you are interested in coming and I can put you on the list.

It's actually a "rafter" of turkey. Gaggle would be geese on water. Geese in the air would be a skein of geese.

I stand corrected. My face is as red as a Snood with embarrassment.

My favorite group name is, of course, a "murder" of crows.

Sounds like a way to describe my last two rounds

To understand how hard Winthrop Gold is, just count how many players shot par or better.  Then count the number of 1000 rated players that shot over par.
Or take a look at what the 1000 rated rounds were for each round.  (par 68)
1st round: 70 = 999
2nd round: 70 = 1002
3rd round: 69 = 1001
4th round: 68.5 = 1000 (68=997 and 67=1003)

That's the only course/tourney I can recall where 1000 rated rounds were over par.

Over what par?  54?  Thats not par.  Did you see the caddy book?
