The great thing about Rosedale is there is one or more people that actually will go thru and get all the cans out.  I'm not saying that these people wont use the trash cans for normal trash, but at least making an effort to point that out might sway at least some people to think a little on what they bring down the next time is all.  No it wont be a perfect system but ANYTHING is better than what we have now.

I had an old boss that believed if every day you did 1% than in 10 days you would have completed 10% and 20 days 20% and so on.  If we dont do something then will never know the effects.  Right now we have a lack of communication with the "outside" disc golf world.

I played with Kevin at WW and SWOPE in the past 6 months.  He was back from duty but then being deployed again I believe for the LAST time.  So when he comes back I think he is done.

Here in the next few months I will be adding a Sign or "Marquee" on hole 1 of Down Under.  One thing I was going to put on that sign is information on the course/club/website and also try to inform people that in a "green" effort we are putting in CAN ONLY recycling bins.  And that all other trash, BOTTLES and such should be taken up and out.  Now this I believe goes right along with what Golden had brought up last night.  Right now I'm trying to come up with the right phrase or sentences to make our point while still being friendly and inviting to new players.

If anyone has any GOOD ideas on how to word this in as FEW AS WORDS POSSIBLE I would like to hear your thoughts.

In a nutshell the sign will say:

Welcome to Rosedale Down Under
Green Jargen about Cans/trash/bottles
For more info contact kcfdc.org

and maybe some tips for getting around DU.  via new orange arrows, ect.

If by this we can even deter 10% to bring CANS ONLY that will make a big difference in the amount of trash we have to lug up to the top.

We will need a chainsaw to cut Trees up that are already down. just so we can cut to fit.  If the weather premits I may go out Sat. still but sunday may just be better.  I will only have until 1pm or so so please show up by 9:30am so we can crack some things.  I would like to move beyond the bridge on 8 as well but we will need to get started and finished asap.  I dont think it will be a big undertaking.

My buddy Steve and I were just talking about putting up some directional signs the other day - I believe I mentioned this to you Dick.  Anyway, we were thinking plywood painted hunter orange and put them throughout the course esp in places like 11 to 12.  Being a "newbie" to both disc golf and the course, I had a hard time the first few times knowing where to go, hence why I was thinking arrow signs.  Anyway, I'll talk to you about it Saturday (if the warden lets me out).
Jason

I may be changed to Sunday.  It all depends on the weather for Sat morn.  There is talk of Snow.  DU and SNOW dont really work together but We'll see .  Keep looking here for updates.  Yes I think Bright colored pieces of BC in the somewhat shape work.  Another Idea I have is just a 12" section of 2x4 painted bright orange with the same idea.  And I think with be easier to cut quickly.  I did it for my mini course (using a YELLOW) and they look great.

Rosedale / Bridges Down Under at Rosie!

Today a few of us went down under and put a temporary fix on #10 and #11 s bridges.  There is still more work to do on those bridges but they are in a state now in which they function better and look nicer.  Next Saturday morning I would like to focus some attention on #8.  I just need about 4-5 people out there so we can hoist up the old bridge and make a few repairs.  If ANY one can come out around 9am and help out I would appreciate the help.  We are running out of decent days and the bad weather is coming.  I believe these repairs are necessary to prevent injuries and other problems.
Things that would help to have are:

Chainsaw(s)
Hammers
Nails(long ones)
Screwguns/drills
Screws (long ones)
Wear Gloves I wont have any for you.
And anything else you can think of that might help.
Auger or shovels

I have a good idea on what we can do to repair #8 but I would still like some creative feedback in order to make it a functional and safe bridge.

Well Dumbo, I actually think I'm going to run for DU CC now.

Because you don't want to run against Jim?

Nothing personal Blowby.  I had originally planned on running for DU if Jim wanted Uptop.  You know what my opinion of DU is and what I believe needs to be done.  I would really like to see you run for Swope.  Unless of course someone else has put in interest.

Oh and BTW.  I am not "scared" to run against anyone.

Well since us common folk can't reply in the Club Business section .  (reserved for the Elite members only I guess)  I will be at the meeting next week.  I would like to know who is up for what position or who has shown interest?
