Tournaments / Re: Club championship question

Almost any combination of courses that doesn't include Swope would get a thumbs up here.

You didn't like the morphed 2 18 hole configuration at Swope?

For the Ice Bowl, yes. For the CC, no.

For realz though. I guess this is a thread.

Well, it will be complicated for sure. The emergence of this tourney and the size it has seem to grow too is making my job and the guy who has to do it next year.... a little more difficult. I have an idea as to what we will do but you will need to give me some time to iron out the details. This may actually require you to sign up early in order to make this happen.

Likely courses to be used, in no particular order:

Heritage
Stocksdale

Hey Doc, your dues are up. Pay online for a prorated amount and then you'll be current until the end of the year. You also will have all your information updated for you.

It's possible that it needs to be moved to Club courses section and has not been done by IT, possibly because there are still changes that need to be made to the website and forum overall. That is for IT to answer.

That's one way to look at it, I guess.  :-\

Here's the data.  West should win based on ratings.  But those aren't everything and east-side needed only 3.5 matches out of a total of 32 competed.
West Side                                          East Side
Clemons         1008                            Mike Murphy   985

Cory Sharp      983                            CD Steiner       972

Kevin Zane      967                             Mike T.           959
Peter B            965                             Jake B.           952
Mark Wisbey    957                             Dresser          950*
Kelly Babbit     957                             Jamie L.         949
Dick P.            953                             GI Dave         938*
Kitz                 950                            CJ Hucke        932
Lee K.             946                             Kevin M.        931

Liz                  788                             Tavish           851
Average          956                                                 947

Here is my explanation of the last 4 years and it's not about ratings, but it may be indirectly resulted from that data.   West side has more players that play in PDGA tournaments.  East side has 5 players that are not current in the PDGA and don't play in tournaments (marked as *).  Also, I know myself and Mike Murphy have played in only 1 tournament (each) this year.  East side that's not enough.  We need to play more tournaments.

The other reason that I think the west side has won the last 4 is that Joe H. has had 4 years of setting up these matches and has the most experience doing it.  The east side has had a new captain each year.

And finally, Thanks Joe and Zeke.  You guys did great.

A few things wrong with these thoughts. First off, Shanon, GI, Perry,  and Dresser are a few of your strongest competitors. They are ones we have to match up against carefully. Also, Joe has been captain for 2 years now. That's it. Tracy was the captain before that.

How may Pro's were on each team would be a better way of seeing if there is a geo advantage instead of counting everyone.

^^^ Doesn't matter.

Had a great time competing this weekend.  I think East put up a great fight, but just ran out of gas that last round at Lakeside.  It's always fun to see the best of the best compete and it's good to know that while we give each other a lot of trouble leading up to and during this event that we're still the KCFDC and we represent KC VERY well.  Well done West side, you put it to us that last round...but we'll be back!

Cheers to that! I'll speak for many others when I say that this event is one of my favorites every year. It really is in a class all by itself. Typically, we all play for ourselves and once a year we can band together as one and play for a team. It's really unique and I hope we go year after year... The KS winning that is. Year after year after year after year.

How the West was won.

Seriously though, I'm so proud of our Disc Golf community and what we all have accomplished together. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's event.

Hopefully, next year I'll get my wing fixed and come back to help the West win a remarkable 5th straight victory.

Full results, including score are now up and ready to be viewed by all.

Good job East side. You fought well today. You typically do in best shot doubles... but there is a lot of golf left.

Get 'em West Side!

LOL. We are playing in Missouri today. Today is your captain's choice of place and time. Don't put this on our captain. He wanted 9 am.

Here is your non cop-out response. Next year, you guys should get your s#&% together and not blame everyone else for your downfall.

I suggested it and your team captain who wanted to tee off at 11 (not really much difference in heat). He alone went with a suggestion from the West side. Maybe you guys should talk to your team captain. Also, when it was decided, it was still 80 degrees at worst. We haven't had a string of weather like this in a few years, so this type of heat is hard to predict. It sucks. BUT, instead of complaining and crying like little children, maybe you should focus on showing up and playing your best. (I know that's hard for you. I can't remember a year you guys haven't complained about something)

West Side!
