Now for a little more information. We are going to be posting all of this info on our Facebook page and website over the next few days/week. But for now we thought we would share with you guys. The following information is subject to change.

Thursday will be the Check In/Players Party/Fly Mart. We will be doing a dinner/welcome that evening at the Swope Pavilion. There will be games, music, and vendors. After the Player Meeting we will distribute the players packs to everyone at that time. If you are not able to attend, we will have other ways of getting your players pack but we encourage you to be a part it if you can. It is a party with a free dinner, including drinks. Games will be free to play and we will have prizes for winners. This is something that we feel everyone will want to attend.

Pool A (All Pro Divisions):
All rounds are on Tee Times

Friday- Blue Valley
Saturday- Swope Gold
Sunday- Swope Gold

Pool B (Performance Flight)

Friday- Swope Gold (Tee Times)
Saturday- Blue Valley (Tee Times)
Sunday- *Water Works/Rosedale (Shotgun)

*If we have 90 or less players we will go to Water Works for the Final. If we have 91-144 players we will have a Saturday Night Shuffle. Meaning that the top half will go to Water Works to play for Trophies. The bottom half will go to Rosedale. While the bottom half will no longer be eligible to win a trophy, both of these rounds will include chances to win prizes and other cool stuff. eg; Discs, Merch, Vouchers ect. We are going to make it very fun and try to give back tot he players in the best way possible.

So, hopefully that answers a few of the questions that have been going around. We have other things planned for the week since a lot of people are staying in town from the GBO. As those thing materialize we will be getting that information to you. We believe that between these two events you will have a feeling of being a part of a 2 week party that doesn't seem to quit.

Here is the breakdown for registration.

National Tour (MPO/FPO):
1020-1060: NOW
1000-1019: 1/11/16 9 AM
970-999: 1/18/16 9 AM
Everyone Else: 1/25/16 9 AM

A-TIER (MPM,FPM,MPG,MSG):
Everyone who qualifies for age bracket: NOW

A-Tier Performance Flight:
0-900: NOW
901-920: 1/11/16 9 AM
921-950: 1/18/16 9 AM
951-1000: 1/25/16 9 AM
1001-1060: 2/1/16 9 AM

As some of you know, technology is a b1tc4. Because of this fact, some people slipped through a crack that happened when we opened registration. Those people have all been contacted and informed that they were not supposed to be able to register. To save everyone a bunch of refund fees we are putting them on an UNOFFICIAL wait list. This is not a wait list that will grow. You can not get on it. If you are on it, you're welcome. It's the best we could come up with. If you are not, please do as they are doing, and wait to be officially added to the list when it is their time to enter as long as spots are available.

At this point, our glitch has been fixed. All registrations are working as they are supposed too. More information will be leaked this week in regards to the things Jack touched on. Please refrain from the need for more until we release that info. We will treat you like Marshawn Lynch treats the media.

The biggest thing is that we now have these awesome websites that do registration for us. In that we can set them up with limited fields in each division. Since we limit the total field of players, we need to guess what divisions will likely be there. In the past it was all done on a spreadsheet and we were responsible. Technology has made things much easier in a way. That being said if something isn't "offered" it's because of the past registrants.  If you say you want to play, then we just have to adjust our numbers from other divisions to make it work feasibly. Hopefully that makes the process a little easier to understand. Or not.

Divisions that will not be offered at first will be things like Legends and Female Pro Grand Masters, as those are not something we typically get. Those will be offered if someone requests the division though.

Most every division will be offered in the registration process. There will be some not offered initially due to history of registrants. If you are in that camp, you may contact us and let us know you are interested in said division and it will be added. As we get closer to the event, if the division has not received enough people, you will be asked whether or not you want to go to another division that you qualify for or if you want a refund.

2016 Kansas City Wide Open - May 6-8, 2016

The 2016 Kansas City Wide Open is returning to the PDGA National Tour lineup. Registration will open 1/4/16. Per the PDGA National Tour guidelines, registration will be tiered, beginning with the TOP-rated players and then working its way down until any active PDGA member may register. The KC Wide Open National Tour event includes only the Pro Men (MPO) and Pro Women (FPO) divisions, with a field limit of 72 players.

As usual, there will also be a concurrent A-Tier going on with all the aged-based Pro divisions and field limit of 72 players.

We are also excited to announce a significant change in this year's KCWO. In lieu of an Amateur event, we are adding a Performance Flight to the mix. The KCWO Performance Flight will be identical to the USDGC Performance Flight that was introduced a few years ago in Rock Hill, South Carolina except that you will not need to qualify for the Wide Open. However, you will need to be a current PDGA member with an established rating. Since using a ratings-based formula is used to calculate projected scores, there is a minimum rating allowed of 875. If you are rated below 875 and want to play, you will have to play the event with an 875 calculated score. If you do not have an established rating, you will have to play the event with a 1000-rated projected score.

The Performance side will be a trophy-only event. However, each player will receive an extremely well thought out players' package unlike anything the KCWO has ever offered before. Our hope is that you will leave here feeling that we provided you with an elite tournament experience.

Like for the NT, registration will be tiered...except from the bottom up. This will allow players of lower-skill levels the opportunity to sign up first. The Peformance Flight will be limited to 144 players. Look for updated information on our Facebook page and at www.kcwideopen.com.

Business model? Ok. I was just being real. Sorry it doesn't fit in to the "Paid Amateur" model people want. I'm an event planner. I would rather give back to every player with a massive event then give a few amateurs a payday. But what do I know?

I have a better suggestion. No more payouts for Ams. Sorry not sorry, I know it isn't a popular opinion but we are one of the few if not only Am sporting events with a payout.

I understand that in this day in age we want information and we want it now. If you could just allow the pieces to fall into place, we will surely get that information out asap. Thanks for your understanding.

You would need to contact them. We typically don't let companies advertise here on the forum.
