Tournaments / Re: KCWO 2015 POLL!
« on: January 20, 2015, 08:13:44 am »
1. Please do not make me play Swope Gold & WW on the same day.
2. Do B & C tier events differ only in the cost to play and the value of the payout? Why would you, as a TD choose one over the other?
3. Is there going to be a doubles competition?
4. You know I'll help out somewhere, sometime! Looking forward to it.

1. Since right now it is Rosedale and Swope Gold in the same day. If I had to change that it would be because it's the only way to make it work with my plan.
2. The biggest difference is price paid in to the PDGA. I would rather pay the PDGA less with the C-Tier but in the scope of things, people on the outside who are enamored with the whole pdga thing get a weird happy twang in their bodies when they are playing in a B-Tier. I don't get it but whatever. Also, some people think if it is a 2 day event it should at least be a B-Tier. Also a thought of the twang in the body by those people. I don't think it matters.
3. Maybe. It would be on Thursday if that were the case.
4. Great.

what are the potential courses?  not a big fan of taking off work to play a rosedale b-tier round and probably wouldnt tbh.

Potentially talking about 1st Round at Rosedale  on Friday in the afternoon. Then you would play Swope Gold/Rosedale on Saturday. There is also the option of doing those 2 courses on Saturday and then a 3rd unrelated course on Sunday Morning. That would require more staff than I want in order to put together one the the best A-Tiers of 2015. IMHO. But it still is an option.

Rosedale, Swope, Water Works. Very valid opinion. Thank you.

Tournaments / KCWO 2015 POLL!
« on: January 19, 2015, 07:09:57 pm »
It's poll time. I would like some input on a decision that I must make with the Intermediate and below players. To make my master plan work I am only able to do a maximum of 3 rounds for the B-Tier/C-Tier players and not able to allow play on Sunday.

BTW, the reason we seperate the Int and below players from the A-Tier/NT over the years is to allow people to pay the $10 non-pdga fee to play. If you want to play in the A-Tier portion you will need to move up to Advanced or higher.

Anyway, please look over the poll and make your vote known. I will listen to discussion but before you ask, yes I am still considering the 3rd round to be on Sunday morning but would like not too. If this is your only option you may choose "Non of the Above." Please vote and help me mold the event. Thanks.

I'm sure the city has keys. Possibly John Theiss has keys too.

I don't know about that. Maybe, but I don't think so.

So it's now allowed to recycle old captains?  It seems like the West is just rolling with this.

You guys are welcome to do so as well. I mean look what happened last time you were captain...

The best 32 players whom are found through qualifiers and captains picks are not pros nor did anyone refer to them as pros. Just the best of what we have to off in KC. What I'm getting at is that this event is pure competition. If people want to play in it they should strive to be the best and do their best to win a spot on the team. Or pay Joe an absurd amount of money to get picked as a captains choice.

And yes, the West Side has their shizzle together. We like winning. The LEast Side could only wish to be as awesome as us. Our entire team had a gourmet lunch together at the park this year. While the other guys went to Wendys and Sonic. Just sayin... And yes, you guys feel free to copy that next year. I'm sure it will help being more like us.

Thanks Tracy. It'll be good for new members to get an idea of what this event is.

IMO, a good team captain can create match ups so that even a good casual player can help his/her team.

Why would a casual golfer be playing in it? Other than qualifying at an event or being picked by a captain to help the team win?

General Banter / Re: KCFDC...the app?

Our new site, which is going to be rolled out for 2015 is 100% responsive and will work very well on any mobile device. An app would be, as mike said, redundant.

I don't think it was a rule either way for or against. I think he is just making it a rule.

First off I would like to thank everyone for voting. After thinking about it I have decided the A Tier will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The format is still to be decided but It will likely be 4 rounds w/ a final 9. Each Pool will play at least 2 courses. And I will use a minimum of 3 courses at this point. Possibly a 4th. I'm really playing with the idea of only 3 courses so that I can staff each course well to give players the best experience.

I would sincerely appreciate help from anyone and everyone who would like to be involved. After the new year I will start to reach out to a lot of you whom I know have helped in the past to do so again. If you haven't helped but want to help please feel free to PM me, email me or simply call me (if you have my #). I hope to make this the best damn A Tier event of the year and to do that I need a lot of help.

I don't want the fact that we are not an NT this year to take away from this event. We are one of the longest and strongest ran events in the history of Disc Golf and we should all be proud to call it ours. I hope most of you feel the same way and whether or not you play in this event this year or not I still can use your help. So please do not be shy to reach out to me. I'm waiting to hear from you... hello?

Anyone can vote.
