General Banter / shameless
« on: December 08, 2008, 12:50:34 PM »
It's my birthday today so I have a list of discs that would make great gift ideas for me...

Star TeeBird... The one I left in Elliot Hick's car would be fine.

Pro Destroyer... 175.

Star Teerex... Cause they don't make a pro.

Thank you.

Let the sardonic replies begin.

General Banter / ACE IN OLATHE!!!!! AND A CHALLENGE......
« on: December 01, 2008, 08:56:50 PM »
Star Eagle 175... Hole #2 on the island placement. Skipped off of the pavement into the chains. Wes Lubberts and Mike Allen were witnesses, BUT...

...It was, again, BEFORE league play, during a warm up round.

I am plagued by warm up round Aces.

I would like to dedicate this Ace to Palmer, who has none and wants one for Christmas.

General Banter / Mr Hicks

Does anyone know Elliott Hicks, and, if so, do you know how to reach him? I need to get in contact with him and would appreciate the assistance.

Thanks

General Banter / Shawnee Mission Course
« on: November 12, 2008, 05:16:08 PM »
I'm very interested in walking the course and working on some ideas for it. Does anyone have time to walk with me? I am going to bring my portable target to work on alternate placements and I would like various players to play the hole to see what they think.

Anyone game?

General Banter / for the fallen comrades
« on: November 11, 2008, 08:58:55 AM »
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

General Banter / EMPORIA'S TOURNAMENT??????
« on: October 23, 2008, 09:16:52 PM »
With the PDGA using a Tandy 1000 and a one finger typist to rework their web site, I am not sure where to get tour information for upcoming events. I have talked to a few people in KC and none of us are 100 percent sure what is going on with the Dynamic Disc tournament in Emporia next month. Is there one? When the PDGA website did work, it said the tourny was going to be held over two days; Nov 8th and 9th but that was all it said. There was no early registration link or numbers to call for information. Now that the PDGA is suddenly back in 1994 and seemingly making its way back to the future slower than real time, and with no contact information for Dynamic Discs available anywhere, what should a crippled soul do to get in on the know? KDGA is mute; and nothing has been posted here, so I am getting rather anxious.

General Banter / THE BOSS... First impressions
« on: October 17, 2008, 01:39:00 PM »
I bought mine today... Forty-five minutes of tossing it around and I agree - it's super fast, but it's not all that stable. It likes to flip a bit. I don't know if I have a "big arm" or not, but for those of you that know me this information will make more sense. For those of you that don't, I usually throw over 375 consistently.
I bought a 175 and all discs are usually over-stable when new (at least, that's my experience), so I expected some over-stability but it's really acting more like a under-stable disc.  More like a weathered Wraith than a Teerex.

It sure is fun to watch fly though...

Loomis.

PS the "2009 worlds" discs are in, go in and buy one to help raise some bread for the big show.

General Banter / TOPEKA Tournament this weekend....
« on: October 12, 2008, 06:20:23 PM »
I need a ride out there each day. So if anyone is planning on playing the tournament and coming back to KC instead of staying out in Topeka, then I would be forever grateful for a lift. I promise to help with gas and buy you a beverage of your choosing each way, each day.  I live off of 75th and I-35 in Shawnee, so I am somewhat on the way for most people.

I really appreciate this.

Found and Lost / Three discs found!!!! at cliff drive.
« on: September 20, 2008, 03:36:01 AM »
Starting with a champion sidewinder on hole #2. Then we find a DX eagle over the fence, in the reservoir, on hole #16. Then, as I pondered that find, I found a QLS near the basket on Hole #16. Tell me the color of each and the name on the back and they're yours.

Found and Lost / FOUND at WYCO
« on: August 17, 2008, 06:47:30 PM »
It's a champion Starfire. I found it on 15. You tell me what it looks like and I will give it to you. Breaking tradition, it doesn't belong to Wes Hansen.
