i'll be looking to form a card to get out first thing on Saturday since I have to work that  evening

Jamie, you should just have this statement turned into a hot-key, so that you don't have to type it anymore.  ;D

I guess the biggest thing I noticed was in the Adv. Masters division.  They used to be an A & B pool.  It's a single pool now, which looks to coincide with your percentages.  Without spending the time that it appears that you did here (Jack), I'm just curious as to how the divisions got split for allowed competitors, as I know there were more than what's playing now that wanted to sign up, and yet still get to be a bigger crowd.  The percentages for Advanced tell me slots were made available elsewhere?

I may be losing my mind, and it's usually verifiable, but, the last couple of Worlds I played in there were double the "age-protected's" that there are now.

Maybe it's because I knew I wasn't going this year, due to already committing to going to Japan, that I barely paid any attention to any of the Worlds sign-ups.  I just looked at the sign-ups/divisions on the site, and this has probably already been beatin' to death at some point, but, is it just me or is there a trend going on with who, or what divisions, they're allowing to sign-up for this tournament now?  I noticed a bazillion Advanced players signed up, and barely what I would consider a "Worlds Competition" list of players in most all of the other divisions. With exception to the Advanced division, it looked like an A or B Tier event.  I haven't looked back at the last 3 or 4 years of sign-ups, but, if I remember them correctly, every division is trending downward in "allowed participants" since Charlotte (with exceptions to the allowed women at that particular event).  Maybe it's the PDGA just looking to see who the latest and greatest up and coming Advanced player(s) to possibly go Pro will be, and all other divisions be damned, but....

Is it a possibility that maybe the sites presenting the event just don't have enough courses to handle it, or, some other factor that I'm missing?  It just seems to me that if you're going to have a Worlds competition, all divisions should have ample slots available, to even be considered "Worlds".

Just curious, and I like starting new...umm...threads.  ;D 8)

completely agree.  Part of the reason that #17 in the new configuration will no longer exist.  Sad but true.

This wasn't as verbose as I was expecting.  ;D

would have been the Course Director in 2013, not the TD for certain on that.

I stand corrected  ;D

I've realized just how spoiled ya'll have it there in KC.  I'm lucky if they move the baskets twice in one year here in Wichita... ::)

I've never known it to be OB, but, that would come at the TD's discretion.  Simple as that.  ;D  (if it's a tourney, that is)  ::)

How was the Dodgebee?

Hey all,  I'm lookin' to see if anyone has a place for a pug this weekend, so the girlfriend can come with to check out the Wide Open action this weekend.  I can get it in the host hotel with a fee, but, it's not much good to us if it can't handle the long walks around the courses.  We also want to go to the Royals game Friday evening as well, so possibly an overnighter for it as well.  I'd really like her to actually be able to come up with me this weekend, as she's usually screwed over doggy watching while I'm gone.  Any help appreciated!  8)

I was busy.... ;D  I was also putting it out there for those not so savvy at that.  ::)

I am happy to announce that we are partnering with the Ramada Inn once again as our host hotel. If you know of people coming in to KC looking for a hotel at a good rate, you can let them know about the $69, double queen room they can get at the host hotel. Just tell them to ask for the KC Wide Open rate. Details are below.

Ramada Inn
1601 Universal Avenue
Kansas City, MO 64120

$69 per night, Double Queen Room. Ask for the "KC Wide Open" rate.

Curiosity question more than anything here.....Does this Ramada allow pets?  (I know, nothing a phone call can't cure)  Just curious, as I/we are figuring out our options.  8)

Oh, and it didn't suck getting to play with Avery Jenkins the first round either.  ;D

Lifetime EXPERIENCE, nothing like it will take a monumental event to displace this event as the best disc golf venue on the planet, I am uncertain how it can.

I now understand the "Lifetime EXPERIENCE" part of this.  This was one of the most awesome times I've ever had.  I had a blast with all my Team KC peeps this past week, along with everyone else that was there!  The staff there literally went out of there way for everyone, and were completely fantastic! If this event is not on your bucket list, it needs to be!  8)

And now, back to the grind.....I'll see all of ya' at the Wide Open next week!
