It was a privilege to work with so many amazing people on the events and hospitality for the 2009 Worlds. You were all so gracious in giving your time, talents, creativity, passion, and more than a bit of patience to this endeavor.

To the team who met faithfully week after week: Mike Allen, Tavish Carduff, Daniel Loomis, CD Steiner, Kristie Svejda, and Susan Taylor, you each showed individual moments of genius and worked together as a team in a way that should be an example for others.

Jack Lowe, John Chapman and Rick Rothstein, thank you for taking the time to give your guidance, time and support to our efforts…even as you were carrying the bigger responsibilities of this little tournament.

I want to thank Kevin and Tammie Montgomery, C.J. Johnson and his boys, Linda Harwood and her daughter Courtney, and Jennifer Keffer for helping us provide entertainment and transportation for the juniors, and Kris-Ann Carduff, Fred Smith, Crazy John Brooks and Brenda Vogelsmeier for helping with the Ladies Ring of Fire. A big thank you to Juliana Korver, Mo Louis, and Duffy Carduff, for judging the talent show. What a fun time that was! Thanks also go to those working on the Par Crawl: Dick Parker, designer of the courses, and Course Directors Angie Biondo, Brad Damico, Vlad Wunschl, Maureen Cameron and Ben Taylor.

It was a great time. Can’t wait to do it again. (well maybe I can wait a little while)

Becky, do you have the tee times for all of the divisions?  I was wanting to see AM1's final 4, as well as the other pro divisions.  I'd also like to see that 16 year old 1000 rated European kid.

I don't remember, looked at the schedule yesterday, but my brain cells are old! I think the Pro Women tee off around 2:30 PM, the Juniors would be before that. If you can find someone with the play book, the schedule is in there.

Wow!!
4pm?? I thought the latest it would get going would be 3pm but was hoping for 2pm.

There's plenty of great golf to see before 4 PM. It's a shame they didn't consult you before scheduling tee times, so that it would fit the times for which YOu were hoping.

When is the talent show?

I would like to sign up if it is not too late as long as it is a day I can participate.

Club Archives / Thursday at Worlds: PAR Crawl
« on: July 08, 2009, 03:13:47 PM »
Yes, it’s a Pub Crawl, bet we’re dubbing it the “PAR-CRAWL” because not only do you visit three nearby establishments (all within walking distance) but YOU GET TO PLAY MINI-GOLF while you’re there! Entry Fee - what entry fee? There is none!

We’ve designed 12 holes (six of them after dark) and decided on random-draw doubles for a truly memorable experience! Prizes for the winners.

For those that require it we suggest calling Yellow Cab Company at (816) 471-5000.

•   7:00 p.m. Meet in Lobby @ Westin Crown Center Brasserie Bar (Host Hotel) 1 East Pershing Road, Kansas City, MO 64108; (816) 474-4400

8:30 p.m. Walk to The Brick (6 min) 3 mini-holes (seedy hole in the wall, great beer selection) 1727 Mcgee St., Kansas City, MO 64108; (816) 421-1634
•   9:30 p.m. Walk to Grinders (2 min) 6 mini glow-holes outside (our host for the Friday night party, funky spot to get a beer and a late night snack) 415 E 18th St., Kansas City, MO 64108; (816) 472-5454

Britain’s got talent…America’s got talent…and we’re absolutely convinced disc golfers do too!!
Here’s a chance to show us what you’ve got. Can you sing, dance, make us laugh, twirl a flaming baton, pull a rabbit out of a hat, make Jack Lowe disappear?

Join us Tuesday, July 28th, 8 PM at the host hotel for a fun, lively evening of entertainment…where you just might learn a little bit more about that golfer you’ll see on the course the rest of the week!  We will be limiting the competition to 20 acts, and have some great prizes to give away. If you don’t have an act for the talent show, but enjoy making music…bring your instruments  and join us for the Jam Session portion of the show.

STAR PAR Details:
The rules:  1) Keep it family friendly and keep it under 5 minutes. Going over the allotted time will constitute a reduction in your overall score. 2) You will have up to 3 minutes to prepare the stage for your presentation and you must clean up the stage upon completion of your set. 3) You must be present to win any prizes at the end of the show. 4) All contestants must be at the show 30 minutes before the start to ensure their spot in the contest.
A panel of three judges will determine the winner by voting on three categories:
1.   Overall entertainment quality of the talent.
2.   The skill level of the performer(s).
3.   Execution of the talent.

Each contestant will receive a t-shirt for participating. Each contestant is responsible for providing their own materials e.g. makeup, costumes, instruments, etc. And did we mention, LOTS of great prizes!
