General Banter / Sears Store closing in Lawrence by early April

Just a heads~up for any DG'ers out there looking to score some SWEET deals (appliances, tools, mowers/lawn equip, TVs/electronics, treadmills/gym equip, etc...) - as our Sears Store will be closing for good in early April.
Nearly everything is 30% off right now. The prices will be going down more and more, but the selection will be dwindling as the final closing date approaches.

Thought I'd share this fantabulous offer to anyone LUCKY enough to be born on February 23rd.
~ February 23rd is Free State Brewery's 23rd birthday in Lawrence, Kansas...and anyone with a birthday on Feb 23rd can receive a discounted meal(s) equivalent to your age as a % off your ENTIRE table's food check. (Unfortunately, this does NOT include the cost of beer or any alcoholic beverages - as this would violate some Kansas State Liquor Law.) No separate checks or split tabs allowed for this discount.
So for example:
~ If you turn 50 on Feb 23rd, you'll receive 1/2 off your entire table's check.
~ If you turn 105 on Feb 23rd, you'll actually receive 5% money back...yup, hard to believe!!

General Banter / Truck headliner replaced?

I'm in the market to change out my '00 Nissan Frontier's cloth headliner. Are there any experienced disc golfers in the area that have the know~how to do this?

General Banter / Sunday random doubles league @ Lawrence/Riverfront

We have a Sunday random doubles league here in Lawrence at Riverfront Park/DGC. It tees off at 12 noon WHEN the Chiefs kick-off at 3/3:15...and tees at 3-3:15 WHEN the Chiefs kick-off at noon.
THIS Sunday, November 14th, the league will tee off at high noon/12pm.
Be there by 11:45 to sign up.
A little bird told me that Avery Jenkins will be there...this SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY.

Riverfront Park/DGC is located in North Lawrence west of the intersection of N 2nd St and 24/40.
Take I-70 West to the EAST Lawrence Exit, pay your toll and turn RIGHT at the light and head North.
At your next LIGHT (around 1/2 mile), turn LEFT and CROSS the RR tracks, go up the lil hill and down into the park. Careful AFTER you crest the hill...stay to your left. Park in the main lot...DON'T back in.
IFF taking 24/40, go straight through the light after the Tee Pee Junction.
If taking K-10, turn North on Massachusetts St, go through downtown, over the Kansas River, under I-70 and turn LEFT at the first light NORTH of I-70...into Riverfront Park.

Found and Lost / Lost: 3 red Rocs and 1 white Demon

3 red Rocs & 1 white Demon
HELP! Reward for the return of any or all of the above discs...beer or cash!
Were lost at either Ted's Dread (Tue 8/3) or before Friday's (8/6) WyCo league last week. (Yes, I called Ted...he hasn't seen/found them)
Great sentimental value with these Rocs as one is from 1998 with the original large Big Bird stamp.
All are marked with "DOC~N" and my PDGA #21037.
PM me for my cell #.

General Banter / I-70/East Lawrence Exit CLOSED

Just an FYI:
The East Lawrence Exit is completely closed for up to 8 months due to construction/reconfiguration.
If coming from KC and wanting to play Riverfront you will need to take 24/40...OR...use the West Lawrence Exit and do some backtracking.

We have lost a man with a big heart...
DG'er James Earnest Chesher (PDGA #30277) passed away Wed, Aug 5th. James lived in Baldwin and frequented Lawrence for league play.

Tournaments / Benefit Disc Golf Day - Sat, March 7th - Lawrence

With a heavy heart I want to let you all know some sad news about one of our local DG'ing brothers:
Brian Iron Whiteman, of Lawrence, KS, lost his wife of nearly 10 years, Jennifer Iron Whiteman, to an unexpected illness on Feb 11th. Brian will be raising their 6 kids and we wish him the best.
On Saturday, March 7th there will be a BENEFIT DISC GOLF DAY for Brian Iron Whiteman and his family at Centennial Disc Golf Course/Park in Lawrence.
Random Doubles will Tee Off at 11AM.
The format is casual so that anyone can contribute. DG'ers can play singles on their own card if they wish, OR, we will have a Random Doubles format (with discs as prizes) teeing off at 11am. I'll be there by 9am to accept contributions and organize the Random Doubles.
A $10 contribution is requested...but any amount contributed will allow anyone to participate. Those who would wish to donate discs for prizes will be much appreciated.
For those who don't know Brian, he is a super nice guy with a heart of gold. He is an avid DG'er and tournament pool player.

WYCO / Key found near 18's basket

Thought I'd post this here as well as Found and Lost/Lost and Found.
Key has a plastic black top-cover with "Access+" embossed on one side and "7R" on the other.
Am guessing it to be a padlock key as it appears a bit shorter than a car/truck key.
Post here if you wish to claim it.

Found and Lost / Found: single key at WyCo near 18's basket

Found a single key with a black plastic top-cover. Engraved in the plastic is "7R" on one side and "ACCESS+" on the other. Appears a bit smaller/shorter than a car/truck key...
