Ice Bowl is 2 Days this year.

Day 1-Saturday January 29th
2 Rounds Rosedale UpTop
Round one Tee off 9:45 am
Round two Tee off 2:15 pm

Saturday will be a No Frills event.  Standard Entry fee will apply, will have small assortment of discs and minis (players pack) available.  Will not have clothing, will not provide food.

Winner of both rounds for the day will be crowned in King and Queen division (that would be Male and Female divisions, I konw some you boys act like a Queen, but suffice it to say, this is the line that I'm putting out there!).

Please bring CTP prizes to Rosedale on Saturday as well if you cannot make it Sunday.

Sunday is the Ice Bowl Event!

Bring your chili, your CTP's, your friends, your cider, your rumballs.

This year I do not plan on charging for each day, but you will not be able to exchange items that you pick out on Saturday on Sunday (tooo many mistakes could and would happen).  Your best score on Saturday can be your score for Sunday, HOWEVER if you play or indicate that you are going to play a morning round on Sunday, you will need to honor that score.  You will not pick the best out of the 3.

Now I am not going to be a marshal and watch you if you go play a round with your friends on Sunday, but I do ask that you let us know so that we can remove you from the possible scoring to ease complications that could arise.  It is afterall the Ice Bowl, and the last thing I want is to make someone break the rules and Whine because their score wasn't correct.....I mean some people may hold that in for like 10 months and feel really bad about their score and stuff, and I dont want that to happen!

Hopefully next week we shuold have some registration forms, and Sponsorship forms, and possibly a pay-pal link to pre-register.

Looking forward to this.

Thanks,

Jack

I had to reread most of this thread to find this...so, I just wanted to bring this back to the forefront!

No, just about 2 miles north of Water Works behind the Home Depot on North Oak and Vivion.

This is the perfect time for seeing the Bald Eagles up there.  I try to make it there at least once a year.  I have some great pics.  May have to go next weekend!

General Banter / Re: Toughing the Cold Weather
« on: December 21, 2010, 01:30:12 PM »
I use the Hot Hands and lined jeans for really cold days.  For the most part, though, I just go out and play a quick round.

I actually find that I play better in colder weather and go out more when the temps are in the 30's, 40's, and 50's.  Its ironic, but having the heat and humidity that we have in KC, I play less when it is hotter.

Shane, maybe just get those scissors...better yet, a $12.00 set of clippers.  I bought a set of clippers about 6 years ago, and have not had to pay for a haircut since.  Besides, whatever happened to the $5.00 cuts I got as a kid...you walk into a barber shop, pay a few dollars, and walk out about 10 minutes later with a good cut.  $14.00 for a haircut...talk about helping the rich get richer!

I like number two as well.  The courses will not be as crowded.  Let everybody play their round(s) at thier leasure in the morning and have a lot of fun.  Then, at a specified time, throw a party at one centralized course in the afternoon, letting people come and go as they will.  If you make it a two day event, have the party around noon on the second day and play on.

I am so impressed with Young's Park and the support the P & R has for it.  Can't wait to see the new shelter.

General Banter / Monday Morning Loafing
« on: October 17, 2010, 11:26:13 PM »
I am planning on setting out to play a round or two on Monday morning.  I have not had a chance to play since the Club Championships due to a hurt back...I think I can finally play again.  Is there anyone available for a round or two?  I can meet at just about any course (I have not played Young's in a while, so that is a thought).
