About a dozen discs were turned in today at all 3 courses of the Wide Open.  I have reached out to everyone that had their phone # on their disc, but many did not have a name/number.  All lost and found discs will be taken to Swope for the Award Ceremony, and then taken to DGW.  I would post what they are, but I dont have them in front of me.

Sorry jbriz I did not meet up with you.  I got out there around 7.30 and was warming up, right about the time you posted this.  Did you come out?

Oh, I get that all the time...the part about the Broncos...no biggie!

Blue Valley / 06/17 round
« on: June 16, 2010, 04:36:15 PM »
Since I am on vacation the next few days, and have all the time in the world right now, and since I never played the monster course, I was thinking of hitting Blue Valley around 8am on 06/17.  Would anyone like to meet up and play a round?

General Banter / Re: Visiting KC- Where should I play?
« on: June 16, 2010, 10:23:20 AM »
Hello

I will be visting my sister in KC next weekend and wanted to know what courses I should play at.

What are your top four courses?

Which ones should be avoided?

Which weekend are you coming?  The weekend of June 19 and 20, we have the Kansas City Wide Open, so Swope, Rosedale, and Water Works are all going to be "closed" to the public.

If it is the weekend after that, definetly hit those three courses.  I would also recommend Rosedale Down Under, Cliff Drive, and our newest couse, Young Park in Blue Springs.

Rick -

I will stop by DGW on my way home from work and talk with you about where you may need me.

Found and Lost / Re: Found Black Putter on Hole 1 at Rosedale

I doubt it, but I am hoping...I am missing a black Aviar with the old stamp on it...the old stamp being that it looks like a disc flying into the chains from just behind and above the disc.

Here's to hoping!

My other thought is that Rand Matney plays withsome black putters.

Rosedale / Re: grass length?
« on: June 02, 2010, 11:41:21 AM »
Clover grows 677.35% faster then grass does...can look tall 3-4 days after a mowin.

The last mowing it got, that I know of, is May 13-14...right before KCDGD.

It has been mowed since then.

John -

I am truly impressed with Young's Park.  I may have had a bad round out there tonight, but I like the difficulty...nowhere to go but up.  As you said, there is no other course like in the KC area.  Nice job.  See you tomorrow for the opening ceremonies.

General Banter / Re: Course at JCCC
« on: May 16, 2010, 08:20:16 AM »
The new Middle School course at 165th and Antioch is closest to my inlaws, with California Trail being second...I just want some variety in the courses I play out there.  For an afternoon visit to the inlaws, SMP and Olathe are not really that convenient.

At home, I live within 10 minute drive of Swope, Blue Valley and Jr., and Yates.  Add another 5 and I can be at Cliff or Legacy.  I am not saying that I dont have anywhere to play, just saying that when in southern Johnson County, I dont have much variety for a round when I only have a short time to play.

I think that hosting the World's would be cool again, but in the next couple of years??  How much notice were we given prior to the last year's event?  I would think at least 3 years would be needed to make it successful.

JCCC would be close for me to play a quick round when I am visting the in-laws...so bring it on.

Dan, well done out there today.  Thanks for getting everything set up and ran well.  I had everything I needed to keep the registration table running smoothly.

I did not get out to golf today (okay, so maybe I am a bit of a wimp, and really did not want to play in the rain, or is it that I was just busy at the registration table??), but I had a good time meeting so many of you.

Oh yes, and Keizer, we will definetly be hoping and praying for dryer weather next year.
