General Banter / Re: Course at JCCC
« on: May 16, 2010, 08:20:16 AM »
The new Middle School course at 165th and Antioch is closest to my inlaws, with California Trail being second...I just want some variety in the courses I play out there.  For an afternoon visit to the inlaws, SMP and Olathe are not really that convenient.

At home, I live within 10 minute drive of Swope, Blue Valley and Jr., and Yates.  Add another 5 and I can be at Cliff or Legacy.  I am not saying that I dont have anywhere to play, just saying that when in southern Johnson County, I dont have much variety for a round when I only have a short time to play.

I think that hosting the World's would be cool again, but in the next couple of years??  How much notice were we given prior to the last year's event?  I would think at least 3 years would be needed to make it successful.

JCCC would be close for me to play a quick round when I am visting the in-laws...so bring it on.

Dan, well done out there today.  Thanks for getting everything set up and ran well.  I had everything I needed to keep the registration table running smoothly.

I did not get out to golf today (okay, so maybe I am a bit of a wimp, and really did not want to play in the rain, or is it that I was just busy at the registration table??), but I had a good time meeting so many of you.

Oh yes, and Keizer, we will definetly be hoping and praying for dryer weather next year.

Got out and played a quick front nine...the course is mowed around the tees and the pins, so it is looking nice.  The fairway grass is still long, but...not too bad.

John -

I am definetely going to try to get the day off from work for this event.  I am looking forward to seeing this beautiful course.  I have heard nothing but great things, and the times that I have driven by to walk it, I have been impressed.  Thanks for all your hard work on this course (as well as Yates)...I know it is going to be great.

**** URGENT *****

Do we have any readers here that have big lawn mowers. I am afraid that with all the rain this week that Rosey will be knee high. I would like to at least get a fairway strip mowed on all the upper courses.

We need to at least mow the area around the practice basket and tennis court area...that's where most of the days actvities reside.

I'll take my regular size mower up there and do what I can Friday evening but it may be like a needle in a haystack issue by myself.

Comments anyone!

Dan, what about contacting the Kansas City, KS P and R and see if they can mow late next week?

Rosedale / Re: Rosedale League Results : CINCO-CINCO-DIEZ

HUH?

My first thought is that someone on #10 saw it with no name and took it.

What type of disc?

I went out with a small group of guys, including one new guy.  For the $10, I got a 160g DX Leopard (they had a small selection of light weight Innova discs, as well as some discs I did not recognize) and a pretty nice selection of breakfast (donuts and coffee) and lunch (grilled hot dogs, chips, bottled water) items.  One guy in our group won a nice backpack in the drawing.  When I left, I would say that only 25-30 people had signed the sign up sheet; and I left at about 1:15.  We just signed up, played a casual round, and had a decent lunch.

Hey, I am wanting to take some of my discs with faded stamps and put a cool design or drawing on them.  What is the best way to remove the rest of the old stamp so I can have a blank disc?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
