hole 14 will be our first trial pin.  it will play about 50 ft east and 40 ft north.  it will be the regular basket instead of the yellow basket i mentioned earlier.  i will remind everyone pre-round.

a couple of ctp's have been donated and there will be plenty of ice cold refreshments in CANS.

i will be taking signups between 11's basket and 2's teepad.  hope everyone can make it.

hate!hate!hate! two to three more gut wrenching losses waiting in the weeks to come.

good call matty, my team got the best of em in old g-i arena on national tv.  nice to see another big man step up fianlly for the cowboys.  they're not a tourney tested team but could cause some problems in the dance.
Go Pokes!

Cliff Drive / Cliff Drive Summer League Starts March 15th - ReDo
« on: February 27, 2010, 04:49:52 PM »
My first thread has turned into a money discussion so we're gonna try this again.  I for one am sick of snow and I'm excited for spring to get here and play some singles leagues regardless of price.  I want to know who's pumped up and ready to go.  Leave the other thread for the rain clouds.

Oh....and again....Tee off is at 5:15 sharp for the three remaining Mondays in March.  Please have your money paid up or a phone call/text message in to me by 5:10 (Drew 816-237-0813).  We'll see how the first couple of weeks go before we set tee times for April.

New this year:

Players choosing to play in the Open division will pay $7 entry fee.  Others remain $5.
(4) players must be paid up to have an official league.
Please bring any beverages to the course in either aluminum or plastic containers.  NO GLASS

I will bring a yellow Innova Discatcher basket to play each week as a test for new pin locations.  I welcome everyone's input on the new locations.  The hole will be announced when you receive your card.  I will try and post on the forum an approximate location a few days ahead of time.

As always:

KCFDC members receive $1 off their entry fee.
Optional - $1 to become eligible to receive the ace fund.  (Rollover from last year - $270)

No, I dont think we are making people move up to open, just encouraging it.  The minimum of four people is for total league turnout, not one division.  Total of 4 is required for the ace fund to be in play and for the club to collect its share.  Three is a loose minimum for a division but will probably not be enforced this year until we see how this all plays out.  Recruit am friends and this can all be avoided.  Looking for a big turnout in all divisions on the 15th to kick off the season.  Hope you are able to join us.

i vote 4/1 to 9/30.  easier to remember for everyone.  maybe glow in october could start at 7 for those who believe it has to be dark for glow.  i personally like to throw white discs in the snow during glow with no lights just to see how many i can loose.

due to the shotty weather and lack of play, I'm gonna leave the pin settings where they are for another month.  For those of you who forgot, here they are again.  BTW, I got my first CD ace today (hole 7, 16th overall).  Pretty much the only highlight of my round!

most sidewalks are built 2".  Runways at airports are usually closer to 12".  i would think a happy medium would be sufficient

i concur.  mach iii's are WAY better than mach v's with maybe the exception of anhyzer putts.  all other putting style should prefer the mach iii.  i think the mach iii vs innova is a more even discussion.  both have their pros and cons.  i enjoy playing tournaments with either.

Gateway Titans can be played at the newer courses in the Lou, most notably Unger Park(along the Meramac River). They're beefy for sure, built to last a lifetime and very heavy to move. I'm not sure of the prices per basket or cost for powdercoating, but I'd have no problem spraypainting them, maybe change colors every few years or so, or even just for a St. Paddy's tournament.
I like the idea in theory Danger, but in my experience, spray painting is a good way to ruin a basket if it gets on the chains.  the chains really need to be removed before spray painting and reattached after the paint dries.  chains with paint tend to be stiff with less action.  speed of putts becomes more critical.  putts slightly high especially, tend to have no chance.  lot of work for a st pattys day tourney.  stick with green clothes, green discs, green beer, or anything else green that might make your irish holiday round more fun.
