William Yates Elementary / Frustrated with last outing

Took my 10-year old daughter to WYE the other night because the one in Blue Springs is just too tough for her and we were hoping for an easier time on an easier course.

I've done this course before, once with my wife and once with my son, so I was familiar with it.

Imagine our surprise when many of the holes had moved with no real indication of where they were now.  The pictures no longer matched and some had no picture at all, though one was replaced with a hand-drawn taco.  From a few of the tees you can even see 3 baskets, so which one should we use?

In the end we would just pick a basket and use it, even though it may not have been the correct one.  We made sure our fun overshadowed our frustration.

Is there any map anywhere that shows the correct current layout so as to prevent this frustration and confusion?

Also, what is the correct protocol for handling rule breakers like the 2 dorks we were following that were toting their 6-pack of buds?

William Yates Elementary / First outing ever!

My wife and I went to William Yates last night to try our hand at our first ever round of Disc Golf.

It's incredibly obvious that neither of us have done this before based on our extremely short throws (despite our belief that we were throwing for great distance) and WILDLY off-base accuracy (curving to the left with a right-hand throw).

Hopefully with time both will improve. 

We had a blast, even though the dark overtook us and we only got 8 holes in.  We are definitely looking forward to trying again and, hopefully, getting our kids involved as well.

What a fun sport!

Beginners / Total, total newbie....Where to start

I played "Frisbee Golf" in a gym class in elementary school about 23+ years ago...but nothing since.

I'd like to try playing again, with the hopes that it would give my kids and I something to do together that we'd enjoy.

However, I don't even know where to start.  I have a frisbee (perhaps not the ideal tool, but it's a start) but don't know what else to do.

William Yeates is the closest course to my house, but do I just go there and play? Is it like a golf course where I need a reservation? How do I know what Par is?

Forgive my ignorance, but like I said, I'm a total newbie...
