Summer Leagues / Listing of Summer Leagues
« on: April 08, 2014, 11:28:35 am »
I can't seem to find a listing of summer leagues and their early starts times.  It would be nice to know when the regular time starts as well.

...and squids DESERVE a retrieval fee.  AND, IFF the owner does not wish to pay this, I think the squid should just simply throw their disc back into said body of water.

Agreed.  But what is the fee?

General Banter / Disc golf vs Winter Olympics
« on: February 25, 2014, 09:06:38 am »
I have never competed in any Winter Olympic type sport.  I don't know anyone who does compete.  Winter sports are really expensive.

I have competed in disc golf.  I know a bunch of people who play.  Disc golf is inexpensive - unless you have 200 disc - ok so it's not that cheap but much cheaper than winter sports.  You can play dg all year long.

I think it would be much easier to be a curling/nordic combined/skeleton etc Olympic gold medalist than a disc golf champion.

Mostly a cool video of a kid making amazing shots in a cup with a ping pong.  A couple of the shots  were disc golf related.

One has to learn to stand before they can walk.  :)

x-step is probably one of the last things a beginner should tackle.  Schusterick's stand and throw practice technique is an excellent way for a newbie to learn control in both driving and up game.  It should not take too long to get comfortable with throwing from a stance... Once consistency is established, then move towards integrating the advanced technique of the x-step.

Good point.  Also, pros will tell you to start with only putters and mids.

Will's video is excellent but he does not include footwork.  Beato does include footwork. There is something to be learned from both videos.  I find instructional videos more helpful than watching, but's that me and I am lazy.

There are two stores in downtown area - Dynamic Disc and Disc Gold World.  Just google to find directions.  You can buy some excellent videos there - the Champions Way with Felberg and Climo.  Name might not be correct?  ???

Here is a free video that might help.

Disc Golf Tips and Technique: Driving with Dan Beto
