General Banter / Re: Where's your thumb when you drive?
« on: May 16, 2007, 05:56:11 PM »
I pinch the ba-jesus out of it between my index and thumb.  It makes it pop or snap and creates a heck of a lot of spin, which can keep it flatter longer. When a friend broke my middle finger the night before Ice bowl with a ping-pong paddle (another story), I noticed that it didnt really matter.  It actually helped me to focus on the release point, which is the last fingers that touch the disc.
Remember: B flat is how discs fly and trumpets cry.

General Banter / Re: Traveling to KC to Disc
« on: May 15, 2007, 12:16:17 AM »
No camping near KC that I want to do. My favorite spot to be able to unload a clip and a fly rod, without getting harrassed, is far south of the city. Hillsdale is out of your way for golf. (Bail is cheap though I'm told. [cough]) Yeaaaah. Pauly Cross might know something around north of KC, Smithville. I'm partial to the camp fire, fishing, hail damage lake scene. Better if you contact me: jcampbellmortgages@yahoo.com and we can better suit you to be introduced to your closest 400 friends in KC. I'll put you up and they will take you down!!! Let me know your sched. Is there camping in IA where you live?

General Banter / League doubles
« on: February 25, 2006, 06:31:57 PM »
My vote is for a TEAM doubles league. Having a team will motivate and obligate you to get out.  Let's have a goal of getting it started at the beginning of spring. As long as it doesn't cost more than basic cable every month-each partner,  I'm in.  (compromising disc golf budget) lol

General Banter / How do you.....
« on: February 24, 2006, 06:02:15 PM »
How do you obtain a disc stamper, or whatever you call it, and create art to stamp on blank discs?  Is it difficult, expensive, and worth the trouble?  I'm not acting "Koi".   I just want my own personal creative discs.   Any feedback is appreciated.  Thanks.
p.s.
Hey Gibson...I've got a bunch of Ice bowl pics that would be nice here on the site.  Send me an email to let me know what to do.  jcampbellmortgages@yahoo.com
p.p.s.
Anyone got a job for me?  (Although my game has improved, my girlfriend does not see this as a valid referral source or future income possibility.)
Thanks for your help,

General Banter / Ping Pong for disc golfers Saturday before Ice Bowl

Christian Mann (Madog) is hosting a Ping Pong party with two tables in his unique art studio/gallery the Saturday before the KC Ice bowl.   Please feel free to stop by with your own paddle/beer etc. (The fire department did last year; no fire, just fanatics in a ladder truck) The address is at 19th and Wyandotte in the Crossroads district.  Hang overs are mandatory on my card for the opening round of the Ice Bowl.  -Soup.  (Don't DUI)

I got that from the Websters quotable definition.  Ask Christian Mann.  I wrote it on a disc last summer.   ...so back off.

General Banter / What kind of Bag of do you carry?
« on: June 07, 2005, 11:43:27 AM »
The PDGA bag is great too.  My Quadshock has been suffering because I like to carry 6-8 beers (ok...10-12...shut-up) in the two large compartments on either side. It also has two drink holders on one side for the double fisted drinkers like myself.  Not to mention a secret zipper that I didnt know about for a whole year.  It carries secret stuff.   Just remember....when you carry a bag like this the rookies watch you throw.  It has the stain of a good thrower.   I say "stain" because the criticism comes with this.

-DISCLOSURE- Drive safely. Drinking and driving is only safe on the course...but leave the car in the parking lot or at home for that matter.

General Banter / Personal Baskets

I've seen several people get better practicing in the backyard consistently.  Then I've seen some people who never change.  I think it's gotta be regimented.  My opinion is that its all focus and repetitiveness.  We all have the same ability to put it in. I think it's all in your head.  What do you think?  What's your idea of a good putter?
